Also of the opinion that trading the pick for Rudy Gay would be unfortunate.

Our 15th pick can be included as well.
I'd do
#2 and Tyrus
for
#15 and Turner
Are those salaries even remotely compatible?

The "and" part was the one that stuck out at me!!
Get greedy.

If we walked out of this draft with 2 out of PJ3/Lamb/White/Ross (w/out it being both Lamb & Ross which wouldn't make a ton of sense), I'd be thrilled.
I hate Carolina, but I would honestly rather have Zeller than Drummond. Drummond is a living, walking, breathing bust. Not to mention Drummond's fit with Biz is terrible. On the other hand Zeller would be a very good fit next to Biz.
What!?!?! You're out of your mind, respectfully of course. 1) Your first two points are just subjective, no fact-based reasoning and 2) Zeller would be a horrible fit beside Biz b/c they both would crowd the paint. Zeller can hit a wide open midrange jumper but he has no face up game.

someone actually said they'd rather have Zeller than Drummond? Would they rather have a beetle than a porsche 911?

I have seen nothing from Drummond. I have seen something from Zeller. Sure Drummond has more potential to be great than Zeller, but with that Drummond has boat loads more potential to be out of the league in 5 years. I just think that Zeller has a decent and effective outside shot and that paired with Biz would do well. On the other hand if you draft Drummond then him and Biz would not be able to co-exist. Talk about clogging the paint, that is what Drummond/Biz combo would do.
On the surface, yes I can understand people thinking I'm crazy. But if you really do look at it your basing your porsche 911 comparison as his max potential. In reality though Drummond has just as much chance of being that as he does being not only a beetle, but one that won't start and has 4 flat tires. Then what would you rather have? A beetle that runs or one that doesn't? My point is just that I don't believe in the Drummond hype at all. I recognize his potential I just don't buy he will ever reach it. I'm not in love with Zeller by any means, but I Just feel fairly confident in the fact that Drummond will be a bust, based on what I have seen. He is hyped for his NBA body, not necessarily for his skill set. He's extremely unpolished and hasn't really been a go-get-em type hard working player. THat combo spells trouble. Zeller is the proven commodity and I don't think that one could say zeller would close the paint and not say the same about Drummond. Zeller is much more perimeter savy than Drummond.
Then again I might be crazy, I highly doubt it though. We shall find out in 5 years!

I'd draft Meyers Leonard over Zeller 7 days out of the week.

Oh I would too. My point is not to hype up Zeller, but rather to say that Drummond is going to be a big time bust. He's the next Kwame Brown, bust wise.
At least Zeller will still be contributing in the NBA after 5 years, which I have serious doubts about Drummond. Leonard will be a starter in this league and will be successful.

We'll see who Hellen Keller is in 5 years. It will either be you who will probably be denying that you ever thought Drummond would be anything after he is barely making an NBA rotation, or it will be me after Drummond has become what he is supposed to. It's not like Drummond is a guy who you can say oh yeah, he is for sure going to be a star. He is no Lebron.
But go ahead, crack jokes all you want. Joke will be on you when Drummond flops out of the NBA.

This guy doesn't even know who Helen Keller is, and you want him to tell you about draft picks?

Captain all you do is throw out dishes to try and entice an argument that is based on personal attacks rather than content relevant to this board. Of course I know who Hellen Keller is, which is why I responded the way I did. I make a simple statement relevant to the draft and this thread, and of course you come back with nothing more than an attack. Absolutely no content. You provided nothing to the discussion besides to stir the pot among posters. It's ridiculous.
Anyway, to get back on topic, of course until the inevitable happens again and Captain derails it, I think Cleveland is going to take Barnes #4. If that happens, it could really benefit us if we are trying to trade, specifically with Portland. It would mean Cleveland would no longer be an option, but it could also mean we could leverage Drummond Hype to entice Portland to trade up. If that happened then I think with Barnes going 4, it would leave Beal there at 6 for us to take. Outside of Davis you have Beal, MKG, Robinson, Drummond, and apparently Barnes up there at the top of the class. If Portland were to be interested in a trade for 2, you would have to think it would be for Drummond. At 3 I think Washington takes Robinson, the hometown guy. We already know Cleveland is most likely going to take Barnes at 4. That leaves MKG and Beal at 5 for the Kings. While they might be enticed to take Beal, they already have back court depth. Ultimately I think they take MKG which would leave us Beal.
So basically we get the guy we might be targeting at 2, anyway, and then we get 11 to play with. We could possibly use 11 to trade with Thomas, perhaps for Gay or something else. Or we could keep 11 and make the selection. If we do that guys I would target, assuming we take Beal 6, would be: Sullinger (this would be a coupe if we could get Beal/Sullinger), Perry Jones III, maybe Tyler Zeller, maybe Kendal Marshall. I don't like the value quite as much as 11, but I think that's a pick that can easily be moved and it would also give us the chance at Sullinger there. I think Sullinger might slide. If we could walk away with Beal and Sullinger, then we would have 4 very quality players to build this team around in Kemba/Beal/Sullinger/Biz, and you could throw Hendo in there too. Plus we would have cap space to fill the open spot. I like it, but again Sullinger slipping to 11 may be a bit unrealistic.

If we stay at #2 and pick either Beal, Robinson or MKG it will mean this:
1) We weren't able to trade down b/c the difference in talent available b/w 2 and 8 is marginal.
2) Jordan wants to speed up the rebuild to save face from this year and thinks Drummond is too risky or too much of a project.
3) We're headed back to the treadmill.

The main reason I want to swing for the fences with Drummond. He could be what Greg Oden was supposed to be, in which case, we're a playoff team by 2014. If he busts, then we've got another couple years picking in the early to middle of the lottery grabbing more talent. Much better than nabbing T-Rob and get stuck drafting 6-10 for the next several years.

Hey man, stay on topic. What's with this whole calling me out and attacking me business? What kind of pot are you? Ah, I see you're a black pot.

I can't see MJ making that deal because we take on an additional 18 million in salary over the next two seasons. Plus, we would have to deal with Okafor's non-caring ass. Not exactly someone you want on a young team.
