Lol I was right. We scored 1 goal and lost 2-1. We were missing key players, but we played so poorly.

Of course the game I decide not to watch we actually score some goals.

Congrats to Dero on becoming our all-time scoring leader. I still hate him though.

Well a much better game from Canada but still not great. Winning 4-0 should be expected so the score means nothing to me, I was more focused on the ball movement and the communication and it still wasn't great.

The next round will be a very tough test. I'm just glad we have avoided Mexico and the USA.

Canada to play World Cup soccer qualifiers in Toronto

Canada will play its next round of home World Cup soccer qualifiers at Toronto's BMO Field.

The Canadian Soccer Association made the announcement Thursday at the downtown launch of its new Umbro team uniform.

Canadian men's team head coach Stephen Hart was on hand at the event and said the decision to play in Toronto was heavily influenced by travel, training grounds proximity and grass field conditions at BMO.

"We felt when we looked at everything, the travel, crossing of time zones, we tended to look at the travel issues and then how comfortable we were with the facility," said Hart.

"Knowing the pitch, being familiar with the playing surface, and all those things added up. We felt it would be best to play in Toronto."

The home games for the Canadian men are June 12 against Honduras, Sept. 7 against Panama and Oct. 12 against Cuba.

Canada is preparing for the third round of qualifying play in the CONCACAF regions, which covers North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Away points are hard to come by and we just got 3!!!!

Fantastic start to this round. Can't wait for the next game in Toronto on the 12th. If we can get another 3 points we will have a really good chance at moving on.

Like I said on the other thread, he is a great finisher but his goal count may be overblown by the quality of teams he plays against. Either way, I can think of a few finishers that are better than him, but yes he is among the best finishing strikers in the world

El Salvador looks legit this time, they got a lot of talented young guns. Good 2-2 result for them even though Costa Rica got absolutely cheated out of a 3rd goal. Unless they do their typical choke job I could see them getting 2nd in this group

Bolivia beating Paraguay. What has happened to Paraguay? They are at the bottom of the table.

I'm more surprised about Ecuador beating Colombia yesterday.

I really wanted the 3 points, but getting 1 against Honduras is a good thing.

Canada dictated most of the game and should feel confident going forward, can't wait to take on Panama in September.
