I'd SH** my pants and roll around in it out of sheer joy if by some miracle Orlando was able to nab a lotto pick, keep their own pick, and keep Dwight. Although that is super wishful thinking. Especially since Ryno cannot be traded on draft night. He and JJ are honestly our only valuable pieces, and since he is a RFA he cannot be traded until after a contract is agreed upon. And the first day that can happen I believe is July 1st or sometime in July

July 1 teams can start talking to Free Agents
July 9 teams can actually sign players to contracts

It sounds like the Orlando Magic GM search is down to Dennis Lindsey, Troy Weaver, Tom Penn and Jeff Bower.

I'd be happy with any of those not named Jeff Bower.

75% chance of it NOT being Bower... I like those odds

The odds have been broken before in Orlando, don't be surprised.

If the BPA is a PF type player, then we could do it but something would have to be capably done with the PF glut, because Ryan, BBD, Clark, and Harper are ALL in that position...
That's why I think we should go BPA between PG/Wing, maybe nabbing Miller.

3 great candidates & 1 Otis-like uncharismatic white guy with a moustache

Why do I have the feeling I know which one we're gonna hire :-? :(

I was thinking about the comments made by Alex Martins and he said he wanted to infuse "Championship Experience" into the front office staff. So as much as some people on here want Penn, Weaver, Walsh etc. I think we are going to see Dennis Lindsey come aboard. He is the only candidate with Champioship experience.

I know other people have said this before but I thin Alex is trying to do his version of an "Otis Smokescreen" with trying to get teams to think Bower is the main guy but pull out Lindsey as the Ace in the Hole so to speak.

At least that is all I can hope with. I do want to see what you all would think of this scenario though.

A) Let Dave Twardzik go and released from the company
B) Bring in Dennis Lindsey as the Head GM of the Magic
C) Bring in Jeff Bower as the Assistant GM of the Magic

And as for POBR see if a team like the Lakers will allow us to interview Kupchak for that job or see if Dallas will allow us to interview Donnie Nelson for that

Any thoughts?

Michael Heisley said the Grizzlies have no intention of trading Rudy Gay.

“We’re not looking to trade Rudy Gay,” Heisley said. “We’re not shopping him around. Period. Do we sit around and say ‘What if we traded Rudy, who could we get?’ No. Right now, Rudy is part of the future of this team.”

Gay, who is going into the third year of his contract, averaged 19 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals in the postseason.

“Yes, people have called us to ask about Rudy,” Heisley said. “Obviously, we need to seriously look at strengthening the team. But Rudy is the only player we have who can get his shot any time and any place on the floor. You can’t afford to get rid of him and not bring in somebody who can do more. I think Chris has to be open-minded about everybody on the roster. But I don’t know how else I can say this: There is no plan to trade Rudy Gay.”

Thank goodness. I didn't want that guy anywhere near my team.

Interesting to see that Orton thinks he may play for us during summer league. I wonder how that'll workout since he's a FA.
