Nash would be a horrible fit in Miami. They would use him strictly as a shooter and Nash will want to be more involved in the offense.

And Steve would get lost in all the advanced defensive techniques they use.

He's an upgrade over Chamlers. Getting Nash would also let Lebron get some quality rest. Nobody else can run the offense on that team. Riley has always raved about Nash. Do it.

What about Roddy Buckets? If Williams stays in Brooklyn, i think the Mavs will make a hard push for Nash.

Beaubois/Odom/2013 1st for Nash/Warrick?

I think Odom has a very cheap buyout. Would also allow us to dump Warrick.

Nevermind. Just saw Odom's buyout deadline (worth $2.4 million) is June 29. Seems the Mavs are looking for a loophole in the new CBA that would allow them to push the buyout deadline to late July, so they can trade him and the other team buys him out.

^Trading picks and a S&T Nash can't happen since free agency is like a month after the draft...

We receive that pick by taking on Watson. Later, we simply sign&trade Nash for Brewer.

Serious question. Would you guys take Marion back for #17 and a 2014 top 3 protected 1st? He makes $8.6 and $9.3M over the next two seasons. We'd be helping the Mavericks clear space for 2 max-free agents. They could sign Derron Williams and Gordon/Batum or wait and have the cap space for D. Howard next season.

You have to think of it from economic terms.

That's like buying the #17 for $17.9M, plus it eats into our projected cap space for the much larger 2013 free agency.

If you throw in Roddy Beaubois, I'd do it. Marion only has two years left on his contract and the Suns would be a competetive team any time soon. Maybe flip him to a contender or a team that lacks a small forward for an expiring contract(Ryan Gomes, J.J. Redick, Samuel Dalembert, Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar) or as a part of a bigger trade (Rudy Gay).

I just couldn't do it, As in this draft as has been mentioned, there should be a number of teams looking to move their pick/picks to either move up or back.

Either way, paying around 8-9 million per year, is just way too expensive for a pick outside the lottery even with including beaubois in the deal as their is easily a good number of point and 2- guards that we could get just for an expiring alone, not to mention, most all of these players would be on their rookie deals.

And IF there is any feasible chance at actually getting a premiere talent, Than we absolutely have to maintain the majority of our capspace.Bottomline, roddy and marion(at this stage in his career)And especially at that pricetag would just be a terrible deal for us.

Taking on someone's bad contract is the only chance to aquire a pick in this draft since we don't have any draft assets to do so (well, unless you want to trade Gortat or Dudley). It's not like some teams give away their pick for free.

I agree, I don't want Marion on this team if Nash leaves. That's why I suggested some players on expring contracts that can be had for Marion since he's still a very good player.

I commented on the Trade Board - it is a ridiculous and unrealistic trade (Steve Nash for $5MM) that hurts the Suns for the foreseeable future by filling the roster with worthless cap-cloggers. It also ensures the Suns are not able to retain free agents they want to keep such as Lopez and Brown. Try proposing a trade that actually helps the Suns.

Ehm, you know that Watson and Brewer have unguaranteed contract and Gomes 'deals expires after next season. You are basically trading Frye and Nash for Norris Cole and two first round picks.

And Nash for 5 million? Yes, it's possible since he wants to join a contender. None of those contenders have money to spend so why not sign&trade him to a team that is one of the best in the east and has a starting point guard spot to fill out AND get at least a pick out of it.

You're talking about worthless cap-cloggers? That's exactly what players like Lopez and Brown (and even Frye without Nash) are.

The only two players bad contracts I would take on to get their pick would be Philly's #15 for Brand and New Orleans #10 for Ariza.

None of the others make sense, including any Pistons players but I doubt Detroit is looking to move their picks anyway.

I think they'll end up trading Odom and Carter to some team along with a 2nd rounder to avoid their combined 3M buyout. Amnesty Haywood leaving them 27m under the cap. They could sign D-Will and have another 10m to spend.

Well, we need a power forward and shooting guard - let's trade for both!

18m for a mid 1st rounder?
