Should we be worried about John Wall??
I dont know if you guys have been following J.wall lately but he seems to be out and playing un-meaningful pick up games and catching alley-opps from Chris Brown(LOL.!!!). he should be working on his jumper instead of playing un-meaningful pick up games?

Re: Should we be worried about John Wall??
Having a good time during the offseason AND developing a jumper are not exclusive activities for most people. Just a wild guess here, but Wall probably worked on his jumper and had a workout earlier in the day before he went out.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

As long as he's in the gym working on his game too, I don't care about him playing in these games.

I guess he is motivated , he retweeted this (tweeted by former #2 overall pick Jay Williams)

Re: Should we be worried about John Wall??
He IS working out. His offseason workouts were planned at the start of the offseason by the coaching staff and the team's training staff. He's following that plan. He's not a case like Blatche where conditioning has been an issue. Wall is an elite athlete who stays in top shape and is working hard to improve. It's okay for him to go out and have a good time now and then.

Re: Should we be worried about John Wall??
I've got no problems with a player partying during the offseason. He's a 21-year-old man, after all. As long as he's working on his game during the day, that's all I ask.
I don't like all the partying during the season though. It's okay if there is no game the following day, but I don't think it's very professional to go out drinking on the night before a game day. Too many of the Wizards still do that.

Remember this from the former Wiz beat reporter Jay Glassie?

Ted addressed some of this in his recent blog

I think our guys will be better-prepared when they come-back this summer. At-least Ted is saying all of the right things.
It’s honestly not that hard to figure out. How does a team hype themselves throughout the offseason to how now is the season they finally get it, then founder completely for the first months of the season, hit a midseason streak, then falter again as players drop off the active list like flies, then magically start winning again just in time to save Grunfeld’s job? Every single year! Because their president has surrounded them with a complete lack of accountability, a zero emphasis on offseason conditioning, so when they arrive for training camp completely unprepared to play in the most competitive league on Earth, the loss column and their bodies take the toll. They have to play their way into game shape, which takes several months owing to the complete ineptitude of their strength and training and conditioning staff (by the way, the same people that oversaw Gilbert Arenas’ spectacularly failed knee rehabilitation that has ruined his career physically after Ernie Grunfeld gave him $100 million? Those people are still running their strength and conditioning program). They blame injuries every year, the entire nine-year stretch of his tenure, as if it’s just bad luck intervening. It’s not. It’s their lack of institutional effort.

we will invest in additional coaches and development staff because we believe in taking a strong view of building infrastructure to support our players and our franchise.

FWIW, the Wizards stayed very healthy last year if you ignore Blatche, Turiaf and Nene (the latter two weren't part of our offseason conditioning program). Booker was the only core guy who missed any significant time due to injury.

Re: Should we be worried about John Wall??
If Wall is partying during the season, especially the day before a game or some such, I'm going to be very worried. But I'm afraid I just can't generate any concern for a story such as this. I mean seriously - a 21 year-old going out partying with someone famous during his offtime? Shocking!!!!!
That said, I'd love to see what sort of investments the Wizards have made in their developmental program. Ted's blog post is encouraging, but I'd like more encouragement than that.

Conditioning is not a concern. The Wizards have a bunch of young guys who are in top shape. If anything they will make both physical and mental improvements as they mature.
My concern with Wall is that he focus his energy into improving his shooting mechanics. I will not pass judgement on him for playing the celebrity pick up game other than to say an injury doing something like that could really set him back.
If Wall's shot never improves then he will never be more than a slightly above average PG, at best.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Agreed.
For the optimistic view -- I'm told that Wall has been working like crazy on his jumper this offseason, and that he's hoping to unveil the new and improved shot at the Vegas summer league.

LOL, some people are taking this to heart..... im not saying he shouldn't go out and party,of course he should and he can!......... But what im more concerned about is these pick up games , they are unnecessary , instead of those, he could spend alot more time working out on his Jump-Shot.

I didnt think there was an off season program since there was a strike.
As for Wall playing in those game. My guess is the team probably supported the idea for the beginning of the summer program. At this stage, he just needs to keep his wind up and probably blow off the steam. Clear his head. Then start to focus back in as they add players through the draft, etc.
It's June 10th. There are 5 months between now and Nov 10. I think he can get out an have some fun for a few weeks.
