I doubt Super Mario lasts the whole match now with that 1st half yellow.

Fabregas thinks he didn't foul there? Seriously?

Think Balotelli's reputation is working against him. All of the 50/50 calls are going against him

HUGE save of Casillas vs Motta!

Man, Ballotelli is such a jerk.

Nice game so far. It lacks scoring (or even imminent danger) on both sides but it's hardly boring. Much better game than Germany vs. Portugal.

very entertaining first half, spain trying to carry the ball into the net as usual, italy with some good chances, better than expected. actually i think spain will have a hard time in this group without a real goalscoring threat because ireland and croatia know how to park the bus / press at the right time just like italy.
Wake up, girl. I wanna go surfing.

Italy had the better 1st half. Spain is fortunate to have Casillas in net.

Ballotelli is my favourite player, a constant source of amusement. Watching Spaniards play chess instead of football is almost as annoying as watching Italy being Italy, though.

i think Balotelli is doing just fine :dontknow:
he's playing extremely hard to pressure and win balls.

Spain badly need 1-2 guys who actually finish, i.e. real strikers. Torres? Negredo? Llorente? Pedro?

Entertaining match so far. Keep flipping between this and Djokovic/Nadal though.

It's a shame that there is no sport in which Mario Balotelli and Javale McGee could compete with each other.

Nonsense, they'll just pass the ball until they get a shot off from 1 or 2 meters.

Match of two last world champions. Italy being Spain. Great match.
Spain's weakness is the lack of scoring, and without striker...

Spain is essentially putting up a line up of 5 pass first point guards. Who the hell is going to score?
