hes had a history of knee and back injuries...why risk it trying to box out?

he is what he is...its worth it as long as hes firing on all cylinders on the O end

Because it's his job?

amare wasnt brought here for his defense

That's the exact mindset championship teams have

Tyson wasn't brought here to score, let's give him 0 shots too.

I do agree...but amare was brought in here to be an all-star.

so with less offensive touches he should focus more of his efforts and skill set to become a better defender/rebounding.

we are paying him to be a top PF...he needs to do the things that make him a top PF

I have no doubt that Amare will have a solid year next season. I would jump on the bandwagon because he ain't going nowhere.

 just cause he didn't do it throughout his career? Well, I guess Miami brought in LeBron James to just put up stats and win no championships then right?

Amare was brought in to win. And since you can't win without playing defense, yeah, he's gonna have to play some defense.

I have got to admit....I am very disappointed in Stoudamire, not just defensively (although that consumes a major portion of my disappointment), but also due to his approach to the game. He knows how to play the game the right way with the right attitude.....Don't believe it, look at how he convinced us all that he was worth that $100million dollar contract during his first season as a Knick (atleast the 1st 3/4 of it). I see his attitude and approach to the game as the major issue....I went to see the Knicks play OKC a couple of months ago in OKC, and the body language that I saw on him was mind blowing.....

It really looked like he had given up on the game and the team in the 2nd quarter (no Melo present in that game due to injury)......The guy would NOT rebound, box out, or do anything to protect the lane, but repeatedly had his hands out for the ball on the offensive end, which ended in a charge or brick. Really, that was the benchmark for his season last season....All of this occurred before the unfortunate death in his family.

If Stat comes in and doesn't have all-star numbers in rebounding and blocked shots next season....He needs to be gone before the trading dead-line....IMO.

The guy went from my fav Knick to most hated in one season. His lack of effort in games is disturbing, and you can look at other games besides that OKC game. Next trade deadline should be our Amare deadline.

I feel the same way. And great post fuller.

Some of Amares most memorable plays for me during that time were big time blocks. The one on Lebron was huge, but my favorite one was on christmas day when we beat the Bulls, when he hustled back on D and basically let D Rose know that he was his Daddy.

Amare was so passionate about basketball, I want that Amare back. He showed some sighs after he lost the weight and got his legs back. I hope his back wont permanently change the player he can be.
