The Heat tour last year had a whole lot of hype and they sold out all arenas but they were hated outside of Miami. Miami=USA, every other bb city=rest of world.

I'm making the case that the fans knew their own country was going to lose, didn't care, and watched the games anyway. The original dream team is the reason there are so many great international basketball players today - a whole generation world wide was inspired.

Except that is exactly what they did. The Dream Team would have blown out every team if they first met 5 minutes before tip off.

They didn't win by playing together as a team. They did win because they had the overwhelming talent advantage.

Also The Dream Team was extremely popular even in other countries. They wanted their countries to beat them but everyone loved to watch them.

OP is not too far off. Heat have the top 3 picks from the same draft on the same team.

Lebron Wade Bosh Miller and Battier were all apart of Team USA at one point. Chalmers is certainly good enough. This is why we are favored at the start of the season. The Heat are a stacked team on paper and it is reasonable to expect them to win. We are a dream team and have been under performing. Like some of the Team USA teams that lost focus and lost some games if we stay on our game we should win.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Wade > Jordan
Lebron > Magic
Bosh > Bird
Haslem = Robinson
Chalmers = Stockton

You're right Miller, Battier and Chalmers clearly make the Dream Team comparisons even more valid.

But they were rooting for Dream Team against every other country.

It's not like Bulls fans root for us against everyone but the Bulls. They root against us everytime.
