Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
ya i can see that with humphries, i wouldnt want to pay him too much either, and what he wants might be too much... i would love landry coming off the bench... but as a starter?@!?!?!
thaddeus averaged about as many rpg as him...
we have to do better... look, i still think our best case scenario is trading andre for lotto picks... and using 2013 to go all out... amnesty brand, trade iggy, let lou and spencer walk... go nuts in 2013 with jrue turner vucevic our lotto picks from the iggy trade....

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Asik fouls too much to expect him to play close to 30 minutes and still expect him to play the same way.
And the issue isn't finding a way to "replace" Hawes' offense. The issue is that we are already really bad at offense. We don't just want to replace it we want to get (a lot) better. The isn't even considering the fact that it seems like the plan would be to straight up dump Lou, who was involved with almost all of our highest scoring offensive lineups. Add losing Iguodala and Brand, that team would struggle to score 85 points a game and lose 60+ games (Which may be your plan, but still)

They don't have a GM or coach. I think any inquires will need to wait until the GM is in place.

Since he signed that opt-in clause, he basically became the coach and GM. We might as well just call Dwight on his cell. S***, I dare the league to come at us for tampering charges.

I love a Jrue / Dion back court, but loathe a Humphries / Allen frontcourt.

well to be fair, i said asik was a good idea if we got a guy like jefferson... i would not want asik at center if we did not have a 20 point scoring PF....

Yeah don't have too much interest in Humphries. Jefferson does interest me alot but I dont know if Sixers could get him without giving up Iguodala, or if he did have to go, get back Millsap. Iggy and Thad for Jefferson and Millsap?

Terribly slow front court with Jefferson, Humphries or Landry. No thanks.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
My plan would be to trade Iggy only if we can move up high enough to get Thomas Robinson or Andre Drummond. Otherwise I keep Iggy through the draft, take BPA at 15(i dont care what position, team needs more talent everywhere).
Then throw everything youve got at Deron Williams. He comes, fantastic. Start calling teams(Magic) to get some other vets with our young guys. See if Ray Allen will come here with whatever money might be left.
If Deron doesnt come here, I sign the best PF and C available thats willing to take a 1 year deal(Jamison?, Camby?). Then I would explore trade options for Iguodala in the late summer or deadline next year for great draft picks in 2013 or some other young players who may have become available by then. Unless its Dwight Howard or maybe Javale McGee(and thats a big MAYBE), I dont want any of the trade targets or available FA here on multi year deals. Deron Williams is the only thing that would stop me from getting younger. Everything else is just going from mediocre to more mediocre.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
Honestly, if all the move is going to do is keep the status quo, then wtf is the point?
Add Gasol or Jefferson for Iggy does what exactly? Opens up time for Turner and gives us a better option in the post. Cool. But For how long would that matter? Unless Turner loses all 495656lbs and finds Jesus(Shuttlesworth to coach his ass how to shoot), and becomes gdlk, we would basically tap out to where we did this year minus the flukey ****. Woopee. Hell it's not a guarantee we do that either as Gasol hasn't won a playoff game without some dude named Kobe and Al Jeff just got swept. No exactly winners. So basically when those guys bounce, we will be in the same spot...if not worse...we are now. Yay?
The Waiters experiment doesn't rustle my jimmies to much as at least we would get a younger piece to add to our "core". It's made better if we somehow keep our 15th and add Leonard/PJ3 or something. I'm not big on trading up to get Waiters, mainly Iggy. I'd do a Turner/15 for Waiters and stuff but Waiters honestly wouldn't be my target. Do we really need another ball dominant guard? A lto of it has to do with the whole NEXT WADE nonsense. If he's that (lol) then it's a good move, if not then at least we wouldn't be stuck in playoff limbo and we would be ass. Still I'm not going to sit here and say I want to watch a **** team for a season(s), but IMO it's a better option than Pau/Al Jeff keeping our head above water as we bleed out.
It just weird to see them actively try to make moves and all of them (as far we know) seem like lateral at best moves. Moves just to make a move type stuff.
But If I had to choose I'd take Waiters future over Pau/AlJeff two seasons. I'd be more okay with it if Toronto goes dumb and does it without taking our pick tho.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
but what if we did iggy for al jefferson... and coupled that move by amnesting brand and going HARD after mcgee.... like offering whatever it took hard....
that way you now have a 20 point 10 rebound PF and an insanely athletic long shotblocking center next to him...
what would you guys say to that scenario?

I was excited about moving into the top 10 until I realized that Waiters is the 'prize'...not sure I'm lovin a Jrue/Waiters/Turner backcourt when you have to get by Wade and Lebron (with any PG).
