6'5 and 185 is really thin for an NBA player. Nothing he can't overcome but he's staring from a bigger disadvantage there than other guys.

Maybe you don't remember asking why Lamb wasn't a consensus top three pick? Well, I've told you. I don't need to convince you of anything, only outline what other people think and why (not even necessarily me). Whether or not you believe the points in question is completely besides the point.

Fell free to adress my actual point if you like. After that you can start getting shirty about me not replying to your purposefully slanted question.

Just to be clear, that would be the initial point that you obviously missed, since you haven't so far shown the faintest understanding of what I was talking about.

You're just dodging my question pretty much for the 2nd time. Enough said lol.

Barnes would be nice, or Beal, but both will be off the board IMO. I like Lillard a little better than Lamb, and both better than Waiters. Rivers is up in the air for me while I take a closer look at how his metrics match up with what I see on the court form him.

I have Lillard and Lamb both ranked in the 8-10 range if that's what you're getting at...

Its true he needs to keep working out more. But I don't know if you have NBATV cos I watched the draft combine on NBATV twice in past 4 days and I saw him bulked up compared to last time I saw him from his final game. If you have any chance, go watch the combine and stare hard at Lamb.

So Lillard. And what does he have to back up his game outside of the combine and stats facing inferior opponents? I know Jeremy Lamb has good stats in a great conference and a title, which is why I'm asking.

185 in predraft isn't the biggest problem. If he maintains 185 in the next 5 years, then you see a huge problem. Alot of guys come into the league thin and light-weighted. Realistically, alot of players end up adding a good healthy 10-15 pounds in the NBA. That'll get him close to 200 ish. There's quite a few guys who are around that range nowaday or back in the old days.

We're talking about motor here. Aren't we? Motor. Motor. And motor.

Let me ask you a new non-related question then. A big man w/ low motor means he's not getting active on the board, w/ poor footwork and no active motions.

What about a shooting guard? What do you considered the traits of a non-motor shooting guard?

Lamb weighed in at 179 @ the combine, how much smaller than that was he in college? im sure he put on like 5 pounds maybe.. but thats pretty freaky being 6'4 or an NBA 6'5 and being mid 170s

NBA strength and condition is way better and im sure he will fill out to 200 pounds eventually

185 for a SG is thin, but not rail thin considering the average weight for a SG standing at 6'5" to 6'7" is around 200-207 pounds. He'll put on 15 pounds with the proper training, though it's a matter of keeping on that weight. It's not like Lamb is asked to spend most of his time defensively taking a pounding to his chest by guarding the post. From the looks of it, he looks like he has decent lower body strength in his calves, hamstrings, glutes and core.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

No, he's still too raw despite having good productions in his college seasons. Scouts said he'll have potential but he's still a mini-project right now, and needs years to develop his game. I don't see BC gambles on a guy that looks like he requires few years to develop his game anymore, especially in the years where his job is on the line. We have one Jonas already (tho skilled but needs years to polish his game), I don't see us taking another long project guy again. If anything, I can understand BC taking Lillard, River or Lamb cos they can come in and provide instant impact due to their obvious skillsets.

Yea, I'd say he's put on at least 10 pounds since last summer:

I don't know why Lamb's work ethic is being criticized (which is what is implied when people call him lazy). He can be passive on the floor yes, but he works hard. This isn't some lazy dude getting by on just talent. He went from not even being a top 100 recruit in high school, to being one of the top prospects as a freshman, and as a sophomore he added a lot of things to his game (improved pull up game and handles). The proof is in his game. Calhoun raved about all the work he puts into shooting drills. Lot of sites describe him as a "gym rat". And he's been steadily adding weight over the last year. Other than T-Rob, I don't know if any other prospect in the lottery has made as much progress as Lamb in the last couple of years.

Lamb doesn't play team ball? Where are you getting this from? One of his problems is that he doesn't demand the ball and go one on one more often. He moves the ball, gets it where it needs to go, doesn't break the offense (when he should be). He's too much of a team guy at times, can fade in with the other guys when he should be trying to take over games with his talent. Even when he does take shots, a lot of them are from working off the ball...this isn't a guy who gets most of his shots by pounding the ball for 15 seconds and then taking an ill-advised shot.

The criticism you hear about his shot selection is not because he's not a "team guy", it's that he should be trying to get more of his shots from inside 15 feet instead of settling for threes.

That's certainly true. It's still something some analysts are concerned about though, which is why I brought it up. Peronsally I don't think his weight and strength are a big deal HIs lack of FTA and Ast are (for me) but not his size.

@marlo - Yeah, of the guys I think will actually be around at 8 I like Lillard a little more than the other options. His massive efficiency and all around skill set transcend any concerns about the conference he played (IMO anyway). You ask what about his game I like? I think the better question is what part of his game do you dislike? You can point to the level of competition, and perhaps a lack of demonstrated advanced PG skills, but that's about it, and the PG skills thing is easily a case of his role at Weber stat rather than an actual lack of those skills. High ceiling and high floor is something I can get behind at the 8th pick. It's not that I don't like Lamb, I just like Lillard a little bit more.

If he can fill out 200 pounds, then that's good because like undefeated said, SG's avg weight is 200-207.

Also I would be more concern if he is both thin w/ t-rex arms but he's not. He has 6''11 wingspan and 8'5" standing reach. Some guys use their length to their advantage. And from what I've seen, Lamb uses his length to disrupt the passing lane, and reaches high up full arms extension for his rebounds.
