Morrow injury may be serious

Post#1 » by dagger » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:56 am

@gregorMLB
Contrary to what club announced earlier, Morrow's injury does not appear to be a day-to-day thing at all. It sounds quite severe.

‏@gregorMLB
Farrell on Morrow: "We'll get a better read on his condition after further tests are done tomorrow but I think at this point... (1of2)

@gregorMLB
...it's safe to say it's probably substantial in terms of what he's dealing with right now." #BlueJays (2of2)

@LottOnBaseball
Morrow said he felt "a stabbing in my side" on first pitch to Harper, threw through it on second pitch, knew he had to stop after third.

@LottOnBaseball
Morrow: "I don't know what happened. I felt it, and that's it."

‏@LottOnBaseball
Morrow said he's never had this kind of injury before; "felt fine" between starts, in bullpen and through first 8 pitches tonight.

Sounds like a Final Destination sequel. The baseball gods didn't get him with the line drive off his shin, so they went after him again - in the first inning.

Oblique injuries seem like Toronto's new sexy sports injury. Jerryd Bayless was also knocked out of the season by an oblique tear.

Well, it might solve AA's dilemma whether to be a buyer or a seller at the deadline.

Do they move Villaneuva into the rotation, or go looking for someone in the minors?

you mean, beside the 21 year old A-baller that's currently in the rotation?
Maybe they have a 19 or 20 year old that can step in?

Laffey could just be because we used up our bullpen today. With another roster move coming tomorrow, let's hope we get somebody better than him

Cecil would be a hell of a lot better than Laffey. I seriously don't want to go through that.

Evan Crawford is up as well with Beck going back down to AAA. Chances are, Morrow hits the DL, and Laffey starts. I refuse to watch Laffey step on the mound.

Well yes, I'm optimistic that it will be anyone else but Laffey starting when Morrow's turn comes up...

It's like they want to lose so they have an excuse to not spend meaningful loot next year with these callups. I mean, could they have chosen 2 worse guys than Laffey and Crawford!? This is nonsense! Wtf are they thinking?!

I've never understood why many of you were so optimistic about this season

As far as I'm concerned this injury changes nothing

This team just isn't good enough to make the playoffs

What other options do the Jays have, the guy just got injured yesterday. Is there a high end pitching prospect to bring up? McGowan is hurt, it's not like they're gonna pull off a trade last night. The callups are just short-term. I don't even think they know how serious the injury is.

They already told us they weren't spending this off-season to compete, going out and making a trade from a position of weakness is not going to help this franchise.
