lol@ CLE thinking they can get b2b #1 picks. I guess their blatant tanking wasn't enough, now they think they can bribe their way to #1. I think if a team had the 2nd and 3rd picks and offered both for #1 it wouldn't even be a fair deal then, let alone for 4/24. Thats a joke offer, tbh.

Why is it considered tanking if a bad team loses a lot of games?

Yeah Hornets need quality over quantity.

So I guess if both players were in this draft Irving would go over Davis?

I would take Irving over Davis and laugh at anyone who wouldn't. This isn't big vs small when the big is 220 with a 9 foot standing reach. This isn't Bynum or Howard. This is a guy that physically is more like Anthony Randolph than a physical beast.

I said a year ago that Irving is Chris Paul JR. In 2 years he no question going to be in the conversation as best PG in the game. I don't think AD is anything more than a better shot blocking version of Joakim Noah.

The Cavs would almost certainly make the playoffs if they got Anthony Davis this year. That would be a steal for the Cavs.

Everyone who thinks Anthony Davis is similar to Tyrus Thomas has even less basketball IQ than Tyrus.

Anthony Davis not only has elite mobility and overall athleticism for his size, but he also has inside touch, good positioning, GREAT defensive instincts, good handles (for his size), is not a bad passer, and in general gets the game of basketball.

Those same people would probably figure Steve Novak is Larry Bird 2.0 just because he's a tall unathletic white guy who looks doofy and can shoot.

Hopefully someone bumps this thread in 4 years when Davis is a top 10 player.

Exactly. He's being massively overrated here. While I would trade him for Lebron, they are pretty similar, I'd never trade him for Durant who has proven to be an elite scorer, elite defender, elite rebounder and a true winner able to finish games off in the clutch.

AD still has a lot to prove to be on KD's level.

I get the feeling they'll bump it up within his first year. Davis is legit, and if injuries don't derail him, he's going to be every bit as good as he appears to be.

Sounds like the scouting report on Tyrus Thomas. 9' standing reach. 40" vert. Great defensive instincts. Covers a lot of ground. Scoring in the teens as a frosh on 60%. Anchored the D of a final four team. SEC competition.

Tremendously similar prospects.

I am a big LSU fan, and AD is NOTHING like Tyrus Thomas. LSU fans were shocked that Tyrus was considered a high pick at all. And you're comparing him to a unanimous #1 pick and a guy who just had one of the best defensive freshman seasons in the history of college basketball. The no doubt best player on the no doubt best team in college basketball. Tyrus Thomas wasn't the best player on that LSU team, Big baby was. TT was a great athlete that had great hops. AD is an all american guard playing PF, with arms from wall to wall and some of the best defensive timing I've seen. It's just a ridiculous comparison, and I love what TT did at LSU.

You should be skeptical of the standing reach measurements at this years combine. I also remember how you said Blake Griffin would never be a 20-10 player because of his short arms.
Davis is a better a prospect than Irving was, but Irving has already proved himself at the NBA level. That's a trade neither side makes.

Wow dude, I love Tyrus but he is no where near the player Davis is. We would have won the title if Davis was on the '06 squad

The only players i'd give the #1 pick for straight up are..

No Question:
Lebron
Durant
Dwight(if signed)
Rose

Maybe:

You can't be serious. The Cavs were in contention for the 8th seed most of the year. Thats a bad team? Then they suddenly lose like every game the last month of the season, when they realize they probably won't make the playoffs. Thats the definition of tanking.

You guys and your blind ignorance, who probably still believe in santa claus, need to go away.
