He screams good, efficient, smart player. Dude shoots 48.5% form the floor. You know how many wolves shot higher than him last year? Pekovic was the only one. He also shot 38.3% form deep. You know how many of our players shot better? Zero. And he had a down year compared to the previous two. Dudley averages 40% form behind the arc for him career.

I agree. He would be a very solid pickup. I wouldn't expect anything more. The pessimist in me says we probably won't even get a player of his caliber.

Also he has a flat 4.25 mil per next 3 years. Good luck finding a better contract than this one.

Posted about this guy before... think he would be absolutely perfect for us. Very strong 3-point shooter and defender who is on a really good contract. Also just an excellent character/team first guy. I think Dudley would fit in great for us, probably starting, but he could also play 28-33 mpg as a sixth man at both 2 and 3. I hope we're at least talking to Phoenix about what it would take to get him.

no matter what Phoenix does with Nash, why would they be willing to trade this guy unless he asked out, or we blew them away with an offer they couldn't refuse.

Without Nash, his production would likely take a considerable hit.

What about this one?

Wolves get Iguodala and Dudley

Suns get D.Williams, Darko & #18

Sixers get Gortat and Wes.

Suns get a good rebuilding package. Sixers get a good center for Iguodala.

We cover our wings in one trade. One wing is a shooter/defender and the other one is a point forward that plays the best perimeter defense in the league. Rubio/Dudley/Iggy/Love/Pek is a very balanced lineup that is easily playoff bound. We will have capspace to sign a big if we let Beas;y and AR go or we can kepp them either way we'll have a goob bench: Barea, Ridnour, Beasley, Tolliver, AR.

Why would they turn down trading of 2 players in their mid-late twenties and who are taking them nowhere for a 21 year old who was a recent 2nd pick plus another pick. It doesn't make sense. It looks like Nash has had enough and they are heading to lottery territory with or without Dudley and Gortat.

I love that trade for us... but I think it might be undervaluing Gortat (at least in Phoenix's view). Gortat is an almost all-star-level center who still has many productive years ahead of him. I understand D-Will is young, on his rookie contract, and has high upside, so maybe Phoenix would be interested, but I think they would probably ask for more. I'm not as familiar with Philly and their needs/direction, so it's more difficult for me to try to guess what they would want for Igoudala.

I really wouldn't be surprised if Phoenix would want us to take on a bad contract or add something else to make that deal happen... I think even if this was the case, it might still be worth it for us.

That's part of the reason why I don't see this trade occurring. This isn’t my main argument, but this trade would be impossible in the unlikely (but not impossible) event that Nash decides to stay. In either case, he's efficient, he's relatively young, and signed for a very affordable contract. Here's how he ranks with the rest of the Suns roster…

2nd in scoring
3rd in rebounding
5th in assists
3rd in FG%
2nd in 3P%

Not a superstar by any means, but he's a very good all around player. Assuming he is on the trading block, it was rumored that Houston and Boston tried to trade for him last season, but Phoenix had no interest in trading him at the time. It's now believed that Houston's first round pick is available, they do after all have #14 & #16 in the draft. It's just one of those cases where if Dudley is on the trading block, I can see a lot of other teams willing to offer more because he can appeal to so many teams thanks to his versatility, experience, youth (he's not that old), affordability, and all around ability.

TL;DR - If Phoenix is ok with the trade, I'll gladly pull the trigger. I think some other team would offer more.

I am a suns fan and don't think they would go for this deal. But they would listen to a deal including #18 plus something for Duds. And he is a great roll player, fills in needs all over the place. Surprisingly good 3 point shooter.

BTW, why does Wes Johnson under perform? Does he just suck? I read that he has not been used correctly in your system. Any ideas?

That's horrible for Phoenix. Gortat alone can net a lot more let alone with Dudley.

What about something like this:

Suns OUT: Dudley, 13, Gortat

Twolves OUT: D. Williams, 18, W. Johnson, (Possibly JJ or a filler)

Twolves IN: Dudley, 13, Gortat

Suns IN: D. Williams, 18, W. Johnson, (Possibly JJ or a filler)

Durant just said Darko is one of best centers in the league. For once, I'm not being sarcastic in a tweet. #Twolves

I'd actually have to agree with him. Gortat is a borderline allstar center. Even without Nash, he can shoot, defend and rebound. He's more valuable than more than half the centers in the league. Some would argue top 10 center in the league (before you get your list of who's better, make sure you're excluding power forwards). Dudley can shoot, defend, high bball IQ. Both guys are on friendly contracts. To simply get a midround pick and Williams (we still don't know if he'll be any good) and Darko (who is nothing more than a filler who won't contribute to any future success in Phoenix) just isnt' enough.

Suns refuse in a heartbeat, why would they trade for lesser players AND a lower draft pick?

Gortat is a great rebounder and one of the best PNR C in the league on offense. Dudley is just solid all-around. Both are still relatively young and on soft contracts.

Williams could become a stud but he had a rather unconvincing rookie season, despite his team needing a lot of help. Johnson is a career 8th/9th rotation man.

You would have to replace Johnson with Pekovic to make Phoenix consider IMO.

You conveniently omit to mention the draft picks included in the proposed trade. They are an important part of it. In reality it is

Gortat, Dudley, 13

for

Williams, Pekovic, 18
