OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!

Post#1 » by Vampire Diaries » Mon Jun 11, 2012 3:38 pm

Now while we are certainly not worried about next season yet, we have business to handle starting Tuesday in the Finals, here is a thread we can use to help build a dynasty. We are GREAT at SG/SF right now, I think we would all agree we need Big Men and PG's. Here is a list with all the good Pg's and Big men who will be available, and I'll update the list as soon as all these players sign with their new teams. If we lan just one of these big men, or one of these pg's, it will be huge for us. I've added a coupld of shooters in here too like Allen and Terry....let's face it we don't need them, but we'd take them.

THE BIG 5 TARGETS
Steve Nash - Traded to Los Angeles Lakers
Jason Terry - Signs with Boston Celtics
Ray Allen
Lamar Odom - Traded to Los Angeles Clippers
Kevin Garnett - Re-Signed with Boston Celtics

OTHER BIG MEN
Tim Duncan
Boris Diaw
Antawn Jamison
Marcus Camby
Chris Kaman
Carl Landry
Kenyon Martin

OTHER PG'S/SHOOTERS
Chauncey Billups
Andre Miller - Re-Signed with Denver Nuggets
Delonte West
Kirk Hinrich
Leondro Barbosa
Goran Dragic - Signs with Phoenix Suns
Jason Kidd
Randy Foye
Mo WIlliams - Traded to Utah Jazz and opted in
Jamal Crawford
Tracy McGrady

The team is in the FINALS and you are talking about who to sign in the off-season?

Yes I understand that, we have business to take care of now in OKC. This is a thread that can keep track of big names all summer, I just happened to create it during the finals. No disrespect to the finals, just looking to get better, win or lose

Our cap situation sucks. I feel we're gonna have to draft a center and try to lure Ray, Nash or Terry here for the mini-MLE.

PG: (Nash)/Rio/Cole
SG: Wade/(Ray)/Harris
SF: Bron/Shane/Jones
PF: Bosh/Haslem/(vet min guy)
C: (27th pick)/Joel/Turiaf

This roster assumes we amnesty Miller and let Pittman walk, while signing Nash for the mini-MLE and Ray for the vet min. Some pie in the sky stuff IMO. I expect us to get one guy off the list in the OP, and we'll sign him to the mini-MLE. Maybe we can trade some guys for picks and try to free cap space that way. PEACE.

Wade + Battier + pick for Howard. Sign Allen, Foye.

Rio/Cole
Allen/Foye/Harris
Bron/Jones
Bosh/Haslem
Howard/Joel

That is a Dynasty.

Jamal Crawford would be a nice addition, doesn't play a lick of defense but he's instant offense off the bench and we desperately need that!

Free agent discussions are starting everywhere. Might as well have a thread for this topic like the draft one. PEACE.

I agree. I'd rather do this than read another puke analysis of how OKC will grant us the privilege of playing on the same court as them in the finals.

Damn we ain't never getting a center on this team. Oh Dalembert...what could have been.

let Miller retire
Wade/Pittman/Cole to Orlando for Howard/Redick
sign Ray Allen and Steve Nash to small deals
sign Oden to a 1yr min deal

Nash/Chalmers/Cole
Allen/Redick
LeBron/Battier/JJones
Bosh/Haslem
Howard/Anthony/Curry/Oden

undefeated next year.

I can only guess that you are not Miami fans. Trade Wade. Fools.

We don't really need a PG but hopefully we can get another guy who can guard the PG position. I don't want to have to rely on Cole's development.

Hopefully we can get lucky with a center.

We might need some more scoring too. Even with 3 players who led top 5 offenses we only had the 8th best offensive production this year. Our offense should be better than this.
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Realistically the only way we get a good center, not at the end of his career, is either through a trade, or a successful Oden reclimation project.

I'd rather see us push hard for Nash first. He can control the ball & tempo, create for himself & others, and hit the 3 at a good clip.

Nash or Allen. There are no cheap bigs available and we have everything we need on the other positions.

You guys don't NEED Steve Nash, but it would be fun as hell to see him out there.
Enjoy every sandwich.
