I've read a lot of Dan Brown's stuff. I like Red Dragon/Silence of the Lambs. Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow were both good. 1984 was good. I really liked Boomsday by Christopher Buckley (political satire). I could get you some academic papers if you want.
