Now I will give it my Kerrsed spin of it ain't gonna happen, because I/the Suns want Rivers myopia.
1. It is not a good foundation to build a winner. Two two identical players vying to do what they do best will create animosity towards eachother; with the "anything you can do I can do better" attitude; that will eventually freeze out the franchise player and stunt his growth, causing a toxic situation in New Orleans.
2. I don't think Rivers would want to go there and be 2nd or 3rd fiddle, knowing the city of Phoenix and state of AZ will be clamouring for him to be their new savior upon the exit of Nash. We have never won a title, but we have had our share of super star players here in Phoenix, and they were all highly adored.
3. We are going to get their 10th pick anyways, via a Grotat threeway
I totally disagree.
1. The coach has known Rivers his whole life, is comfortable with the kid, and thinks he can be a dominate player in the league.
2. Hornets probably think Rivers can play a little bit of PG and that the team can run small sometimes with Rivers at the 3 (especially after he measured in at 6'5"). Jack/Gordon/Rivers/Ariza/Davis. Davis can make up for a lot of defensive deficiencies and allow the Hornets to attack on the other end.
3. He probably views Rivers as a bench player for the next couple years anyway, who can spell Gordon and add scoring off the bench.
If Lillard is gone, and I think he will be gone at 6, Rivers makes plenty of sense for the Hornets.

At least I am not a nets fan. Wow, the #6 overall for Wallace... Maybe. Someone needs to get fired for that. We all knew that he would opt out for a longer contract but this is comedy.

The Blazers have the Nos. 6 and 11 picks in the June 28 draft, and they worked out several players considered worthy of those picks, including Ohio State's Jared Sullinger, North Carolina's John Henson, Kentucky's Terrence Jones (who played at Portland's Jefferson High School) and Baylor's Perry Jones III.

I honestly do trust upper management, and based on that Blanks conference it sounds like we are going for a perimeter player, which is exciting. Rivers, Waiters, Ross, or Lamb. There's no way that 5 SGs (including Beal) go before us. Beal at #2, Waiters at #8, and we will have the luxury of choosing between Rivers, Ross, and Lamb. Can't really go wrong.
JMac1 wrote:Neither is Sarver. Outside of Davis, I think Rivers is the most marketable guy in this draft..... He is already getting hyped up big time. After Nash leaves, we will be the ONLY team in the league without at least one marketable player..... No way we don't get Rivers.....better or worse than Lamb, Ross or Waiters he will be a Sun. Thus, we can move on about the Curry fiasco...

To play with a better PG in a better city!

Without Nash? Absolutely. It's going to be worse. Much worse. We don't have a young and overpowering Amare. No burgeoning Brazilian' Blur. No "in his prime" Shawn Marion. No increasingly confident Joe Johnson.
What's the best we have right now? 28-year-old Marcin Gortat? Or is it the coolest role-player ever in Dudley? I know it's not perpetual bench warmers Childress and Warrick. No Nash next year and we're a 15-20 win team regardless of who we draft unless our FO pulls a rabbit out of their magic hat.
