The problem was that he didn't stop after that, or keep the interview positive. Rome was trying to set him up to make the professional answer saying "I don't believe it at all either but its a question people have so I feel like I should answer it" but Stern in his seething rage couldn't stop himself from attacking him personally and taking cheapshots (at him and Stephen A. Smith no less  )

lol, didn't exactly seem like seething rage to me. seems more like dry wit!

But I just noticed this isn't the off topic thread, so if you wanna keep talkin bout this quote me over there

He was answering foolish dickery with a classic example of the same.

from wiki

"The term "loaded question" is sometimes used to refer to loaded language that is phrased as a question. This type of question does not necessarily contain a fallacious presupposition, but rather this usage refers to the question having an unspoken and often emotive implication. For example, "Are you a murderer?" would be such a loaded question, as "murder" has a very negative connotation. Such a question may be asked merely to harass or upset the respondent with no intention of listening to their reply, or asked with the full expectation that the respondent will predictably deny it."

That's what Rome was doing. Discussion over bro.

Looks like chad fords 7.0 mock has us going with Trob. Says the team is torn between him and MkG. Jordan apparently is not sold on building around mkg's limited skill set on offense but they also question trob's ceiling.

Basically the same things we've been discussing lol

I saw he updated but couldn't read it, he said in chat that he absolutely believes we will trade down for 2 picks or a pick and a player, where is Beal?

Yea i saw that to and given how we seem to be torn it only makes sense to trade down if a good deal is there.

BTW he has Beal going to the cavs at 4

Obviously we will only trade down if the trade is right but I honestly believe picking at the two is precarious for us because there is such a logjam of talent after Davis and we have so many needs that we could really use any of them.

Trading down with Portland makes so much sense for the six and eleven and we are in a strong position considering Portland is on record as trying to trade the six and eleven for the four pick from Cleveland, we may be able to trade the two for six, eleven and both Portland's seconds(40+41)

We can use those seconds to trade into the late first or trade up from six or eleven.

The draft could have went so many ways depending on the lottery and teams may be willing to bet the farm to get our pick.

Hypothetically if we trade with Portland I can see the lottery going like this-

NOH-Davis
POR-Drummond
WAS-Beal
CLE-Barnes
SAC-Gilchrist
CHA-Robinson
GSW-Waiters
TOR-Lillard
DET-Henson
NOH-Leonard
CHA-Rivers
MIL-Sullinger
PHX-Lamb
HOU-Ross

Lamb is the guy that drops for no reason and Waiters is the biggest riser going to a team that has a history of drafting undersized two's/combo guards.

I honestly think we get Robinson if we trade down and we will probably draft him anyway, Washington and Sacto will both give him a very hard look and if they pick him then Gilchrist/Barnes will fall into our lap.

Drummond is coveted by Portland as far as I know and makes perfect sense next to Aldridge.

I really want us to take Sullinger at eleven(sorry brotherdave) but if we take Robinson I imagine we take Rivers who has good value at eleven imo.

I hope Portland do offer us those 2 picks because that would be great for us. I can easily see if we trade down with Portland that T-Rob would still be there. That's if their high on Drummond. It seems though that we're only the team in the top 5 considering T-Rob which doesn't say to much about him.

If we made the deal, I would take Lamb at #11 before Rivers. But I do like Rivers also. T-Rob at #6 would be the steal of the draft. Cannot see him falling that far tho. But wow! If we landed both T-Rob AND Lamb, I would feel the Bobcats aced this draft every bit as much as if they had landed Davis. I would be very happy.

I'd go with Lamb also over Rivers. I see Rivers as more of an off the bench instant scorer, but I think Lamb has the potential to be a fixture in a starting lineup, with great scoring and potentially better defense.

There you have it! Is there anyone here arrogant enough to challenge the basketball mind of Dick Vitale?

Vitale always goes for the big college names. Just look at what he's said historically. He loved our 2005 draft because of Felton and May winning the NCAA Title. I take what he says with a grain of salt in terms of talent to NBA.

I guess my question is answered.

The problem with trading with Portland that everyone seems to be overlooking is they will likely want to keep both of their picks. Considering the guy they like Drummond would likely be there at 6, and that they need multiple picks out of this draft just like we do I doubt they will be moving their picks.

All that says is that the other guys in the top five with us are happy with their fours. Kanter, Tristan T, and D.Cousins.

If we did make the deal with Portland I would be happy with either guy although Austin's intensity on both ends of the floor would give him my nod. I am pretty sure Mike would insist on Zeller with this pick though.

From everything I've seen Portland needs to somehow leapfrog sacto for Drummond.

A few more thoughts from Portland’s side of the Charlotte trade ideas. I am trying to make these points with the respect Charlotte fans deserve.

There is not a clear pick at #2. I am not sure you can find two “draft experts” that have predicted the same picks 2 though 6.

In other words, these 5 players are so evenly matched, why move up? The only reason for Portland to move up to #2 is if they have a certain player they need. Portland’s roster is so thin, they can use all 5. Portland will be happy to take the player that falls to #6, and call it a good draft day.

There is another reason Portland does not place much value on moving up to #2. This may also be and the same reason MJ & Cho might be whiling to let #2 go on the cheap to move down a few spots, money. The first year salary of pick #2 is $1.28 million more than #6. Portland needs that cap space to sign FAs.

Portland would consider trading pick #11 to move up. If there is not a package that is appealing to Charlotte for #2, no problem, there are other trade options. If not, our GM feels he can find a starting caliber player at #11. Portland needs to draft the two best starters they can out of this draft.

It sounds like Charlottes best trading partner is Cleveland. Trade #2 for #4 plus, and call it a good draft day.

Your analysis makes perfect sense. I agree our best option would be dealing with the Cav's for 4 & 24, unless the trade involves a pick & a player.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

CBS Sports is all over the rumor of Barnes being in the mix for #2. SMH.
