Seems like, if you decide to deal Dwight (I'm far from convinced he's leaving) that he'll go to the Lakers for Bynum. Lopez, Brooks, Morrow, Wallace ... doesn't seem like enough there to make a deal but curious what you guys feel on how this will come together in the coming days and weeks.

I don't think the Magic will do any trade involving the Nets unless it is for Deron to come to Orlando to play with Dwight. Not going to happen.

The Nets ship sailed as soon as they didn't receive their pick, no chance he goes there now.

I was very happy/relieved when I saw Portland land at 6.

I would have been more than happy with a package like ADavis, Lopez, Brooks for Dwight. That with a guy like Lindsey, we might be contenders in ~3 years. If Dwight wants out, we will not find a better offer. The only way this ends well is if Dwight decides he only wanted to be in NJ and decides to now stay in Orlando... I doubt that's the case.

How happy, or not happy, would you be with that same package minus ADavis?

Let's put it this way, I would rather Dwight walk.

Anyone who would be happy with a Lopez/Brooks deal for Dwight is only a Nets fan. I'd rather get Bynum or let Dwight walk for nothing. Lopez is no longer on rookie salary and will eat into future cap; that's not worth it to trade for Brooks.

I also think him being in LA (where his fiance lives) this whole time may warm him up to the Lakers or Clippers which have much better trading pieces. If Dwight wants out, I expect the new magic gm to look into Bynum and Griffen. The clock is ticking in Clippertown with CP3, so they may go ahead and seriously take a look at that deal.

Without Anthony Davis in the deal, there's no point in it.

If we let Dwight walk, we'll be SWIMMING in cap space. Whatever direction our GM decides to go will be interesting.
a) use that cap space to build a contender quickly
or
b) sit on it and let some Pat Williams magic allow us to rebuild through the draft for 2-3 years

Return to Orlando Magic
