Chris Brown is talented? I mean, besides being able to dance, i highly disagree with you. He prob doesnt even write 90% of his music.

To each his own. He's got a good voice...also, I don't care that much if he doesn't write his own music. He's not a favorite artist, but I do like him and think he is talented.

So people should respect him for something he was born with? He's just a dude that got lucky in having the right connections and getting spotted among countless others, many of which actually write their own music. Nothing wrong with liking his music, but to call him an artist...? I think people throw that term around too loosely. Not saying he didn't work hard either, but just that he doesn't really deserve any sort of particular respect over others. Just my 2c.

They're both so lame, so bad.

I feel bad for the little kids that get spoonfed this stuff as teens.

And they're both huge pu$$es to boot.

Would you like me to shout out the unnoticed artists? He was given an opportunity and made the most of it (besides beating Rihanna). He's a good artist that is a very good dancer and is a good singer IMO. I find nothing wrong with calling him an artist...but you do, so it's ok.

Funny how Brown acts all tough on Twitter, like people forget he's the same guy that beat a woman.

Can you tell me what makes him an artist? I mean, what exactly does he create? Dunno why I'm even debating this, I don't really care about the dude, just find it kinda odd that these people can garner respect as artists doing what they do.

He sings. Singers have always been viewed as artists. Music is an art form. Not sure why it matters, but there you go.

Had no idea CB had issues with Drake. CB should join GOOD in its campaign against YMCMB.

I love how someone in every thread has to say this...

I think someone should. Every thread where something negative happens. Should be a board tradition. SO LET IT BE SAID. SO LET IT BE DONE.

Im too old to care much either way about their antics, but Im not a hater

As much of a knucklehead as Chris Brown is, the kid is supremely talented, he's probably the closest of all the Michael Jackson disciples (Neyo, Justin Timberlake, Usher etc.) to having the whole package.

Drake is soft but the boy can spit, let's keep it real, people.

Which makes him a performer. He's talented as a performer, I'll give you that. Would you consider backup singers artists? What about the church choir? Or someone copying a choreographed dance routine? To be an artist you gotta create something original. Simple as that. Not just perform a rendition of something created by someone else.

For what it's worth they're both technically actors too.

Chris brown- Takers, This Christmas and You got served
Drake - Degrassi High

Just saying...

They're still punks though and I could easily picture either one of them dipping out of the back door of the club to escape a fight. Which makes you think. How much of a punk are both of these guys that they're scared to fight the other one? Smh

I was wondering how this thread got as many posts as it did.

So they aren't artists? Wow.

Singers / musicians = artists.

To answer your questions - yes, I would consider choirs and backup singers as artists. No point in arguing with me anymore...I consider artists singers and won't be changing that.
