He'll be RFA. That still matters even in the new CBA.

I doubt Harden for 2 ever comes to fruition. The thing I thought was interesting was the bit about them wanting a more established player for 2. Seems to me they aren't looking for just a draft pick swap, such as with Portland or Cleveland. Also really supports the Gay rumors.

Here's a question that may be fit for this thread, or may not be. With the rumors of Shaw being the favorite and the fact he will most likely run the triangle, how does that change our draft and/or trade options? For those more familiar with the system, what should we be looking for to fit it via trades? Does Gay fit that kind of system?

This was released to try to motivate Harden in the series, I wouldn't read too much into it.

Never support a gay rumor :-?

Harden would probably become an alcoholic if he were traded here.

I'd rather wait 2 years and just sign him outright once we're already somewhat competitive and if we still need a guy like him.

It would be like the Hawks with Joe Johnson where JJ put up monster numbers his first year but Atlanta still sucked enough to get Horford. Harden as your best player won't take them anywhere but the lottery until a good core is established

I seriously doubt anything comes of the Harden chatter (too valuable to OKC), nor Rudy Gay (too much $$). Invariably teams involved in such discussions want too much on both sides.

The best scenario is still a deal with Cleveland. Ideally we send just the 2 for 4 & 24. Cleveland gets their choice of Beal or Barnes with no team able to take the guy who fits them best. Hard to know which way the Wiz would go, but we'd have a couple of quality options remaining. Getting that extra pick at 24 is huge. There are a few quality players there that I like.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

But the Hawks suck and we don't want to be like them.

Milwaukee Bucks – The Bucks hold the twelfth pick in the draft, but league sources say they’re attempting to trade up. They would like to move up in the lottery and they fueled the trade rumors at the NBA Draft Combine when they met with a number of top prospects who likely won’t be available at No. 12. Milwaukee has been working the phones, trying to find a trading partner in the top ten. The Bucks and Bobcats have discussed a deal for the second overall pick, but no trade is imminent.

What would you guys be interested in from our roster?

Honestly, and without trying to sound like a dick, there really isn't much.

It would obviously start around #2 for #12. But that's a pretty big drop so we'd have to move some serious salary and even then, I don't know if it'd be worth it. If it were possible to S&T Ersan for Tyrus then we'd have a good salary move. Guys like Ellis and Jennings are good players, but we don't have much use for them.

I just don't think we're very good trade partners.

Yeah that's sort of what I was thinking. Jennings/Moute/Harris/Sanders/Udoh/Dunleavy are our positive assets. Monta Ellis too if you've never watched him closely ;)

I just don't see a ton there for you guys.

What about 12/Tobias Harris/Future 1st? Any interest in Larry Sanders?

I don't really see anything on MIL's roster that I really want. Jennings and Ellis are both no's for me, unless we're getting a real steal and if we got one of them, Kemba would definitely be on the way out. I like Udoh and LRMAM, but they aren't good enough to warrant the #2 to #12 drop. Not really interested.

We'd essentially have to rob your roster and it wouldn't be worth it to the Bucks in the long run

I'd be down for some robbery. We need to move out of the 9th seed hell somehow. Anything other than our current road is better for the Bucks in the long run.

Some trades we've brought up on our board...

Jennings/Moute/#12/Future 1st protected for #2

Ellis/Moute/#12/ for #2 and Tyrus Thomas

3-way here..
Bobcats get: Gay and Bucks 2013 1st
Bucks get: #2 and Thomas
Grizzles get: Ellis and Luc

Most of us would give you about anything/everything from our roster to get the chance to shoot for Drummond's ceiling.

yeah but what's the point of getting out of the mid lotto hell if you don't get your own picks?

But then why would we want it? You have to give up value to get value. You need to decide, are you rebuilding or going for the playoffs? Going for #2 in this draft does neither for the Bucks.

Because you can have our whole roster? lol.

We want to rebuild. Our front office wants the 8th seed. We're hoping they can luck into a terribly good or bad move, but either way we need to gut our roster. Drummond is raw it's not like he's going to be putting up 20/14 as a rookie.

In this scenario we would obviously be tanking as we'd be giving up most of our players that equal wins in order to move up for a brighter future.

Maybe you're FO doesn't think a star is available at #2 and would take 5 quality players over 1 :dontknow:

I can dream. :D
