Lamb would likely be there then. You'd also have to take a serious look at Kendall Marshall if he was there.

Or, I might think about trading down with Boston or something for their picks if they wanted to and get two players (Royce White, Andrew Nicholson, Marquis Teague, Doron Lamb). I know that might be high for a couple of those guys, but I think all those guys could be quality players.

I think the Celtics stay at 21/22 unless Rivers is available to go get. I think those two picks hold more value for that team than any pick 12-20.

I agree that they would likely rather keep it. From what I have read, they don't really want Rivers in Boston for fear of nepotism, breaking up locker room, dad having conflicted interest, etc. I think it is actually more likely they trade for the pick if Rivers is gone. KG, Pierce, Rondo, etc, likely wouldn't be too happy if they thought Rivers was playing because his dad coached the team...even if it was justified, it's just a headache for both of them waiting to happen.

This years draft is going to be pretty important to the Blazers, which 2 players do you think they should draft with their two picks assuming they fall to them? Beal, Drummond, Meyers, Lillard, Barnes, Sullinger, Zeller, or any other players you think would be a good pick.

Steve Kyler
My latest Mock has them taking Drummond and Waiters… Drummond is too talented to pass and Waiters has a promise from someone, hearing its not Phoenix or Toronto, so either there is a trade in play for him or its the Blazers

Problem is everyone else available at #13 will have equal flaws at different aspects of their game. Picking in the late lotto is difficult. Nobody is really elite at anything (hence why they're going in the late lottery).

Rivers won't be going to Boston. As mentioned, there's no way Doc wants to deal with that kind of pressure. Sure, it's a nice thought, to have your son on your team... when they are 8 years old.

2012 NBA Draft prospect Jeremy Lamb was in Toronto on Thursday to workout for the Toronto Raptors, but rolled his ankle very early on and was not able to complete the session. “Jeremy Lamb went down early in the process, so you have to make do,” said Raptors Executive VP Ed Stefanski. “This is a process, we have done work all year long. This is to get to meet the kid, take him out and have a meal with him and see what he is like, but you would rather have the guys healthy as they are going one-on-one against each other.” via Hoopsworld

Would people be annoyed if Henson drops to us at 13? I don't know why he isn't ranked higher...maybe people see more Anthony Randolph than Josh Smith in him

I'd be fine with him if the Suns drafted him. Not my top pick (Rivers) but close to it...If Nash stays imagine how fun it'd be throwing lobs to him all day, and we'd have a legit athlete at the 3/4 for the first time since...Marion? (don't count Clark...or post-surgery Amare...kind of)

I would be annoyed. Dude looks like a 7 foot tall 5 year old. I think he is going to be a semi-bust. I think he will end up being a very very poor mans Camby, with worse numbers.

Why haven't there been any rumors about the Suns trying to acquire a pick?

This is such a nice draft, we better get another pick even if it means trading away future ones. This is the one time that trading future picks will be acceptable.

Morris looks like he plays half asleep so maybe another big man prospect would get him motivated. haha.

There are a lot of shooting guard prospects that I like in this draft and I really hope the FO gets the guy who develops the most. None of them seem to really be can't miss prospects (and that's fine) but things that stand out for me:

Lamb: those physical gifts are amazing
Rivers: dynamic attack and aggressiveness
Waiters: ceiling appears pretty high/ combo guard
Ross: seems like a "safe" pick (and that's not a bad thing)

This year's draft is so much better in the early teens than last year. I knew we could make a mistake last year which I think we did (but only time will tell). Unless the FO has us all duped we will take a perimeter player at #13. One of those four you mentioned will be Sun in two weeks and although I prefer Ross I won't dissapointed with any of them.

I suppose they could go Lillard/Marshall but I give it less than 5%.

Even though they have 2 lottery picks from the past 2 drafts on their team, must suck to be a Utah fan right now having no 1st rd picks in such a talented draft and just 1 second rd pick.

From what is being said about New York's ability to sign Lin to a long term deal is, the ONLY way they can sign him to MORE than a 1 yr MLE deal is if the Union reinstates his Bird Rights to NY. If not, the only thing NY can do is offer the MLE to Lin and hope he takes it, then next summer sign him to a long term deal. We'll find out more by 1 July, when the Union is supposed to give their verdict on Lin's Bird Rights.

My take on the SGs that may be available.

Lamb - Talented but unmotivated. End of discussion.
Rivers - Offensive dynamo. Plays aggressively. More turnovers than assists.
Waiters - Best defender for Syracuse. Big frame. Absorbs contact in the lane. Average offense.
Ross - Great size for SG. Committed on-ball defender. Nice off-ball movement. Solid pick.

Nice analysis, Sun Scorched.

I agree with what u said about Lamb and Rivers but Waiters is more than just average offensive player. He`s very good slasher and decent shooter. And can be valuable defender in the NBA. Right now, my favorite Suns` pick.

While Ross is a nice prospect my biggest concern about him is that he can`t create his own shoot and we need a guys who can make plays so our pick should be Waiters or Rivers, if u ask me.

Boy, sounds like Rivers is trying to talk himself up to being picked at #8!!! I think he wants to be picked higher than 13, regardless of the situation, because there is no way he believes that crap he is talking about Toronto.

Austin Rivers lists Toronto among his preferred NBA destinations.

“I have kept up with teams that fit me and the Raptors are one of those places,” Rivers said. “I think I fit in this program well. I like the way they play. I like the new coach, I like how he gets after it on defense. As far as offensively, they like to get up and down and go at them and that’s something I like to do.”

Rivers worked out for the Raptors, who have the eighth pick.

“He’s more athletic than I thought he was,” Raptors Executive vice president of basketball operations Ed Stefanski said of Rivers. “He really can compete. He has been worked out over all these years knowing what could happen to him so he’s much the pro, even right now.”

It also reads as if the GM is trying to justify picking him so high!
“He had the year at Duke and the one thing he can really do is he has a terrific cross-over dribble to his left hand to get to the basket. He’s quick off the bounce. He’s going to have to work on getting bigger and stronger too but he’s not even 20-years-old. We saw enough through the year that he is going to be one of the top players picked in this draft.”

No American player wants to be stuck there; definitiely not good for media hype!! But if that is the way he feels, I no longer want him now!!

Go Waiters!!

I do think Waiters' offense will get much better - his slashing/post game is what helps his offense so much right now. I think his range will get more reliable in a defined offensive scheme. A ton of his offense came in transition.

No, no it's not. We're about to be historically bad. You don't trade picks when you're going into a rebuilding phase, period.

I agree. It's either players for picks or nothing.

Our pick next year - in the absense of the only guy in the league that could make our roster look like a playoff team - will be very high.

Rivers isn't even working out for Phoenix. I guess he figures #11 is about as low as he's going to go.
Rivers said between himself, his father and his agent, the trio has scheduled just five workouts. Toronto was No. 2. He will also visit Washington, Portland and Cleveland. He has already been to New Orleans.
