Shaq being interviewed for a GM position? Really????
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

^ I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I just don't know Shaq well enough
but what I do know, doesn't scream future GM to me. But what do I know?

Ruz, you didn't just give away everything, but life and the universe too. Some people......

You can still enjoy the ride - even if you know the answer. And I may have given away the answer, but does that matter if the question remains a mystery? Ah, that's the question. Oops.

Nah, just pick random letters out of the bag.
Which reminds me of a joke.
When they couldn't settle on a name for the nation that is now known as Canada, they decided to put all the Scrabble tiles into a bag, pull them out at random, and whatever letters came out would spell the new name of the country.
So, the first guy reaches into the bag, pulls out a letter, and announces: "C, eh?", then a second: "N, eh?", and finally the third: "D, eh?"
OK, it works better in person.....

Kennedy? Nah, you can't use proper names in scrabble.

Also, the original is extremely racist, but that makes it even more useful in an educational setting.
Apocalypse Now was *based on* Heart of Darkness -- as you probably already know. The resemblance is not an accident by any means.

Prometheus in 3D IMAX, WOW! Loved-it, great Sci-Fi. I predict an Oscar nomination for Noomi Rapace.

So I ate some horse meat tonight. No, I didn't know it was horse meat when eating it, merely that it was a plate on a table of random horderves in a party in Almaty Kazakhstan. I was like, "Wow, this is the worst beef I've ever tasted; after finally swallowing it and commenting on its tasted, a friend there said, "Oh, you mean the horse meat?" Um, yeah, not so great. So if you find yourself in a party in Almaty, stay away from the very dark reddish looking meat items...

When traveling, I'll try anything on the menu, and sometimes it's horrible. I went to Greenland and there ended up eating whale (yuck), muskox, seal, and reindeer. The latter two were delicious. On the way back, in an Icelandic restaurant, the chef sent an appetizer sample around to all the tables. Horsemeat. Also delicious.
Dog and cat stew? Not yet.

In Taiwan right now. Eaten urchin, snake, snail, eel, various unsavory (mostly sex) organs of the conventional animals, and was offered dog (under the guise of "fragrant meat") but didn't go through with it.

Here's some food I turned down in Bangkok back in March - Fried grasshopper, mealworm or large cockroach (on the right). Sooo not something I'm interested in trying - I'm perfectly happy not ever knowing the taste. An associate of mine who worked there, when I asked her about this said, "Grasshoppers are really meaty - quite tasty. But cockroaches are too crunchy, not enough meat in them to be good." That was a bit TMI for my tastes!

My wife is Korean - her brother's favorite food (and in fact many Korean men) is dog. They love it, and apparently find ways of getting it in the US occaisionally...
Personally, I'm OK not trying truly horrid stuff including animal sex organs. But I do love some weird sea food stuff.

In the future, if we continue to overpopulate the world, we will probably resort to eating insects exclusively. Insects yield the maximum amount of protein in the smallest amount of space.

Re: Official Random Thoughts Thread - Part 3
Tony Parker with Chris Brown's crew gets in a fist fight with Drake's folks. Chris Brown is bad news IMO. I read that Drake dated Rihanna (after Chris beat her down but before their latest musical collaboration). Any how, Parker got his eyeball scratched in the middle of the fracas. (I know I am getting old after I used that word.
)
I guess Tony Parker better stay away from Brent Barry, if you know the history between them. Or, maybe Chris Brown shouldn't be with Parker in case Parker runs into the Barry Brothers.

I've eaten fried grasshoppers. They were pretty good. Chocolate covered ants too. OK, but seemed (like chocolate covered bacon) a waste of chocolate. Not sure about eating cockroaches; lots of psychological baggage there, but I guess it would be better than starving. Maybe in a curry sauce or pasta sauce, with lots of garlic and onions.
