Will
Schmitz is reporting that D12 wants out of Orlando. You agree?

Alex Kennedy
What’s up everyone? Thanks for stopping by and submitting your questions. Let’s get started.

Yes, Dwight Howard wants out of Orlando. A lot has happened since he decided to opt-in to the final year of his contract. While Stan Van Gundy and Otis Smith are gone, Howard still feels betrayed by the organization since they told Van Gundy what was said behind closed doors and they made Howard look like the bad guy. This situation has really gotten ugly and I think Howard will be traded this summer.

If they f this up and lose Dwight, I will pick a second favorite team and just follow them more. It's too hard being a magic fan. I like what the thunder are doing...

Does anyone here really believe the Clippers would trade Blake for Dwight? I think Clippers would catapult up to the top of the Western Conference and contend for championships.

For us, it all depends on what we're able to do with our current roster. If we can move a bad contract with Dwight and pawn off another, we'll be in great shape for next summer. With Blake Griffin, an electrifying Superstar we could be bring in some talent like James Harden and some good role players to fit with'em.

John
Is Dennis Lindsey the favorite for the Orlando GM job?

Alex Kennedy
The Magic job will go to Dennis Lindsey, Jeff Bower or Rob Hennigan. I do think Lindsey is the favorite.

Now a positive quote :D

This. If the Magic's struggles were a product of bad on court play i would stick with them no matter what, but the fact that our organization knows nothing about running a Basketball team makes it so hard to like the team as much as before. At least we're not Nets fans. Oh and i like where the Cavs are going, Kyrie has top 10 player written all over him, and depending on who they draft this year (I would take Drummond) they have great potential.

I like what the Cavs are doing as well. Actually, I like what they are doing a lot! I think if New Orleans can keep Gordon, they got a good shot to build something there as well. A great new owner for them and Monty is a good coach.

I know. I am ashamed. But being a fan of this team is damn hard because we've been so damn close and have f'ed it up both times. It's not the players, it's the management/ownership. You can't really do much about it if you're management continues to mess things up.

Yeah, I like the Cavs too. We'll see if their owner learned his lesson though.

Nothing wrong with admiring other teams while watching another Superstar potentially bolt from your franchise.

Lost Shaq, lost Penny, lost T-Mac, now about to lose Dwight. How many superstars can you stomach walking out on your franchise before you start pointing the finger at ownership and the management it hand selected. Sorry but if Dwight leaves I am officially done with RDV. Orlando will always be my team, but I wont be able to stomach ownership anymore. Superstars are mercurial, have egos, have to be catered to, etc. But you cant tell me you are committed to winning championships if you are not committed to doing what it takes to keep guys who can win rings.

This is from YBR over at TBN

His #1 priority right now is his back, he's not close to 100% yet. But yeah when the GM/coach situation is close to be resolved business will pick back up.

Again he has not asked to be traded. Not saying he can't or won't, but that's not where his mind is right now

He's been repeating this for a couple of days now, so any reports coming out about Dwight wanting to be traded are to be taken with a pinch of salt right now.

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins
#Magic today worked out Tony Wroten Dee Bost, Charlie Westbrook, Tu Holloway, JaMychal Green & Jamar Samuels.

Good 2nd round work outs there. I like Westbrook. Reminds me a lot of George Hill. Holloway and Geen can be good bench guys in the NBA bringing a much needed spark for us. Definitely looks like we're looking for scoring and athleticism. Bost would even be a good back up point guard.

Also told that Kevin Jones interviewed with the #Magic today but didn't participate in the workout due to injury

What about this trade idea? 3 way with Houston LAC ORL

Magic out Dwight/Hedo

in Dalembert/Kevin Martin/B Griffin/Houston 14/16 picks

LAC out DJordan/BGriffin

in Howard

Houston out Dalembert/Martin/2 1sts

in DJordan/Hedo

I think its fair for everybody, we clear some capspace with Martins expiring bring in Blake and 2 lottery picks this year, thoughts?

Why would Houston trade Dalembert/Martin/2 1sts for two bad contracts?

I would rather do a three-way trade based around us getting back Lowry and Bynum while sending out Ryan and Dwight (to LAL, and Gasol to HOU)

Too good for Orlando and not enough for Clips or Houston. Maybe if Orlando gives up 2 first picks as well one to each team them maybe they start to consider it but your current trade gives Orlando 3 picks in this years deep draft

Rick Rolled wrote:I have a feeling that any candidate who talked about having a plan for the future would be crossed off the list immediately. Rdv is up there in age, and I think we are going to be in "win now" mode, no matter how unrealistic that may be at this point.

IMO, "win now" would mean keeping Dwight, because there's no return you'll get from him that will put us in a better position to win soon.

in that case, it would be a matter of "what moves can you do this summer to put the team over the top?", and "if we can't do it in one year, do you have a short term plan that can convince Dwight to stay?".

i still think the best option is to try and retool with some of the vets available, on one year deals, whilst clearing other contracts to make room for the summer of 2013. Nash + KG are on the top of my list on that front. we've got a unique situation where they would still feel like they did their part to help the team win a 'ship, rather than just riding coattails.
