Ben Wallace has more with Detroit (unless leaving and coming back to Detroit disqualifies him?)

Edit: Nash too with Phoenix (again, left and came back)

I was going with consecutive, I think Wade and Haslem have more as well once you include playoff games.

I just think people are selling out on him considering what he has done for the team. With all the coaching changes and rumors he has had to endure he could have easily just asked for a trade.

If I was the GM I think I'd look into what a package of Turner, Thad and #15 can get me. Could probably get you Matthews, Felton and #10 from Blazers. Nice backup PG to Jrue like Indy has with Collison, a shooter at SG and a chance to maybe get Waiters, Lamb, Perry Jones or somebody else the Sixers could be eyeing. Maybe Drummond even slips to there if the Kings pass on him. Then you still have Iguodala to either keep with that group along with a couple free agents or you use him as more trade bait. Not saying that Blazers deal would be the best we could get but just using it as an example of a trade that one team would probably agree to. I think we could actually get a pretty nice return out of that package as people really like Thad around the league, Turner still has potential and was the starting SG for a team that was a couple minutes away from the conference finals and that #15 pick is in a deep draft. I would even look into if that deal could get us a big time player by himself like Dwight if we added Vucevic as well. I'd think that the Magic would have a hard time turning that down. It's a lot better deal then just taking a straight swap of Bynum or Lopez.

Anyone know how the relationship between dwill and Jefferson was In Utah, would acquiring jefferson with a decent run in the playoffs be something that might lure dwill to Philly ?

I like both players and think they each have unique games. I understand Iguoadala's 28 and that he's not a #1 scorer. However, he is a leader and a tremendously hard worker. I wish we could go the Boston route and put stars around him like the Celtics did to Pierce. Deron-Iguodala-Howard. I know chances are slim, but the chances to win a championship around Holiday/ET are slimmer IMO. Will it hurt us to try? Absolutely not. The fact is that without 2 or 3 all-stars on this team, we are not getting out of the East for the next 5 seasons. Boston may be finished, but Miami is still light years ahead of this team and will be until LeBron leaves or until we acquire legit superstars. I've said it before, but if we play our cards right, we can convince Deron and Dwight to play here. Secret: Keep Iguodala and do the best to keep Holiday. All 4 are friends and have a mutual respect for one another.
What would Orlando want for Dwight? Who knows at this point. Was Brook Lopez, Brooks, and 1st round pick really going to net Dwight? Was Andrew Bynum + a few pieces going to? I'm not sure and no source out there has convinced me yet. Our package consisting of Turner, Vucevic, Young, S & T Lou, and picks for Dwight + bad contract (JRich?) would be hard to beat for a rebuilding team. Again, I'm not saying it's likely to happen but I am saying that it is an option and that it would be foolish not to explore it and at least discuss the idea with their agents.

I agree with the big 3 idea of DW, D12 and AI but I think to get the deal done you'd have to be willing to give up Holiday for a couple of reasons. He won't be playing point with Deron here and even though he shoots well you could see that he looked better with the ball in the playoffs. Also, I don't think jrich is really that bad of a contract. For what he is. I mean he's barely making more than kyle korver and can nail a 3 and still has the athletism to defend at a decent level.

Deron/FA
Jrich/meeks
Iguodala/sam young
Allen/moultrie?
D12/Hawes (can go over cap to be re-signed right?)

Big men that can defend and rebound?? can't be!

I just think it'll be tough to be able to get deron and Dwight in Philly...deron can get more money from the Nets and their now playing in NYC with a ton of marketing opportunities, then with Dwight all they'd have to trade is Lopez and maybe someone like Marshon Brooks. Then they can just resign a very similar player to Iggy in Gerald Wallace and they would still have Morrow (one of the best shooters in the league) to start at SG. Plus they have an owner thats willing to spend whatever it takes. They have pretty much the perfect situation for Deron and Dwight regardless of the two of them being good friends with Iggy and the Sixers having a good season. The Nets are an automatic title contender after that.

2) He will be playing all offseason in the olymipics with his Achilles tendon problems with little rest.

I really hope our FO doesn't panic like you do.

If Iguodala opts out at the same moment Brand's contract expires, can you imagine how much money Sixers would have to use when the FA's are much more appealing?

You cannot predict injuries, and Iguodala hardly misses games in his career. I don't know why to think about doom scenarios.

But most people think it's best to have our money stuck to Bargnani, Ed Davis, Kris Humphries in 2013, so we cannot go after James Harden, Chis Paul, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, D-Will, ... .

Son....Chris Paul and Blake griffin aren't going anywhere, Harden will probably be traded this summer because they know they won't be able to keep both him and Ibaka, Dwight will be traded this summer and Deron is unrestricted this summer. I could definitely see us making a move for Josh Smith though...maybe even this summer. Our defense would be ridiculous with him.

And still no offense.

Yeah, let's get Josh Smith and make this team even more like the Hawks.

And what if this will never happen?
People talk about him as a 19-year prospect, but at his age, there's really not so much room for improvement anymore.

It's safe to say George, Cousins, Monroe and probably Favors will have far better careers than Turner.
Only the 'hopers' need to wake up.

"Safe to say" that Cousins will have a better career than Turner? Really?

Of your list, the only guy that I feel "safe to say" will have a better career than Turner is George - a guy that SEVERAL teams passed on before Indy took him. Now, could the other three guys turn out to be better pros than Turner? Sure....but I don't think that is a lock. To me, Turner possess all of the qualities that you want to see in a closer - he has the mentality, and has done it at every other level - HS, AAU and college. He has elite instincts - as witnessed by his ridiculous rebounding skills...for a guy who is as "unathletic" as Turner is, his ability to go get the basketball off the glass is world-class and speaks to an instinctual aspect to his game that simply cannot be taught.

Does he need to improve his shot? Of course.

Does he need to get in better physical shape? Yup.

Does he need to get out of that STUPID Li-Ning shoe deal and get shoes that will keep him from slip-sliding all over the freaking place? Damn straight.

Harden blossomed in his 3rd year. Lots of other guys do it as well. Turner will have a full offseason knowing that he will be a starter...he should know within the next few weeks whether it will be at the 2 or the 3. I am not saying that he WILL be better than Favors, Monroe or Cousins, but I am willing to give him one more season before I pass judgement.

Same here^^ This third year is going to be the biggest of Turners career. In my opinion it's make or break for him and he needs to turn the corner....But so do guys like John Wall, Cousins (attitude), Favors (potential), and the ever so overly hyped Paul George.

I think George is legit - I would take him in a heartbeat.

There is no question that Turner needs to take the next step mentally as much as physically. At this point, I view it as a low-risk option...the reality is we will not get appropriate value back for the guy, given the way he played in the playoffs (regardless of the fact that - in Chicago and Boston - he was going against two of the best defenses in the NBA in the playoffs). While - at the time - I was as frustrated as anyone at Turner's poor production in the playoffs, I now view it as a good experience for him...he now knows what it is like to get meaningful burn in high-leverage situations. If he is a good of a player as I think he can be, he should come back this year ready to take the next step.

Will he take that step? Frankly, I have no idea...but at this point, I think we have a better chance to get value out of the guy by him taking that next step than by trading him for whatever we would get for him.

a couple of things concerning ET's development.

first off, ET changed his mechanics from the ground up last summer. It takes repetition for ANYONE to get comfortable with new mechanics. People want ET's shot to improve overnight but that's not possible at any level. If people paid any attention during the 2010-2011 season, its that his release was slow, among other things.

After a summer of overhauling mechanics, his release has gotten a lot quicker and it was noticeable throughout the 2011 - 2012 season. Now the only thing left for him to do is shoot the ball 1000s of times for him to be more consistent with his shot.

second, college players use to come out of college after their junior and senior years. Even then it took rookies 2,3,4 seasons to become what they are. Now all of a sudden if you come out of college as a junior, you're old and for some reason, won't develop much at the next level? It's not like Evan was a 24-25 year old rookie, a la Al Thorton. He was only 22. And he was a late bloomer at every level. Thaddeus Young has been in the league for over 4 seasons and has shown only marginal improvement ever since coming in to the NBA.

ET has shown great handles, willingness to get to the rim, and a scorers mentality. The guy can create off the dribble and can get open. The groundwork is there for him to be a very good player in this league. Fortunately, shooting the ball is something that one can argue is the easiest skill to improve upon with practice and from what we know, Turner is a guy with a very good work ethic. He knows what he needs to work on, and he will get better.

I think his biggest obstacle is the mental part of the game. If he can keep the emotions and nerves in check he's going to be great. Horrible athletes don't grab 15 rebounds in an NBA game playing the guard position. His shot needs to improve but I think a lot of that is in his head.

The idea of having Howard and WIlliams come here is almost too good to be true but at the same time not impossible. Sure there are other teams that can offer more in a trade and/or appeal better to the both of them but what if a team like NJ balked at giving up so much in a trade and we swooped in there and offered the most young players and picks?

At that point, when a potential deal for Howard is reached (Iguodala, Holiday, 2 1st round picks, and RIchardson coming back? ) you could then talk to Deron and his agent and give word that Howard will be a Sixer if you sign a max deal. I think Williams is the key because Dwight seems fickle enough to follow him wherever he goes and you know he'll agree to come to PHI just to get the hell out of ORL.

Amnesty Brand if both agree to come here/sign max deals and here is what a potential starting 5 looks like:

Williams / draft pick
Richardson? / Meeks
Turner / Young
Allen / Moultrie or Jones at #15
Howard / Vucevic

Pretty nice starting 5, with a good mix of veterans and young players to complement each other. Sacrificing Iggy's defense for this squad is a tradeoff worth making plus you get to see Prokorov or whatever his name is and Jay-Z publicly melt down. :D Win-win with Collins as our coach.

Question for sixerfan!

Do you happen to hear if we have any interest in Jeff Green?

wiretap news says he is drawing interest from 12-14 teams, and that they picked 3,4 teams to choose from..
One is Boston, I'm sure one will be Nets.. Wonder if Sixers are in the mix..?

Thanks!

If the Sixers are interested in Jeff Green, they officially have no regard for conventional basketball.

Favors is 'safe to say' will have a better career...he's legit.

Objectively, ET needs to get his chubby arse in the gym and dedicate himself to being a true professional...he may never be Ray Allen, but he needs to adopt that approach to his profession. I'll give him the change in mechanics, but he gets paid to play basketball at the highest level possible...give me 40+ hours a week dedicated to the game this offseason, and come back with a 3 pt shot and return to an 80+% FT shooter. I've never been on his bandwagon, but certainly am a fan and would like to see him succeed...the excuses (from fans...to his credit ET really hasn't made excuses) have always been nauseating, and it really is all up to Evan.

How is it safe to say Derrick Favors will have a better career? He still hasn't shown that he can maintain the aggression level needed in order for him to live up to his potential. Also, being that he's a bigman and Evan Turner is a better defensive rebounder than him isn't that re-assuring.
