Would we be able to get both Justin Turner and Nick Castenallos from Detroit in a Greinke trade?

I would want more than that. I would take that for Marcum not Greinke.

I don't know if you could get just Turner for Marcum.

Then you really don't want to trade Marcum because you would be happy to get one of them.

And it's Jacob, not Justin.

Anything short of four prospects for Greinke is a loss.

No it isn't. I'd take two great prospects over a great, two good and one mediocre prospect.

I agree, i'd much rather have quality over quantity.

Plus, if Greinke is traded, Brewers fans need to remember that we got him with two full years left on his contract, which meant KC could ask for more in return than Melvin can ask for at the deadline.

Not only that, with changes in the CBA, a team who traded for Greinke wouldn't get comp picks after the season if he left to go to another team, unlike in years past. This is a big difference, Before this CBA change, it was easier to stomach for teams to give up multiple quality prospects for a rental at the deadline because that team knew that at least it would get two comp picks in return. Not anymore.

It will be interesting to see what kind of impact that change with comp picks has on trade activity at the deadline? Will teams try to offer noticeably less for rentals or will simply the desire to win be enough to get buyers to still part with quality prospects, even though comp picks no longer with come their way after the season? If the offers are less, it could cause the Brewers to just keep Greinke and take the comp picks.

Very true, we had 2 full years of Greinke vs. the half season his new team will have. I'm all for trading him, just wish it wasn't Melvin doing the trading.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If they do make Greinke available, I want Melvin to call his old friends in Texas and get Jurickson Profar. He would be ready to contribute in probably 2013, no later than 2014. He would be our SS of the future. I know he is highly ranked(some say highest ranked SS), but why not try. The rangers already have Andrus and he's only 23.

I responded to "Justin Turner" without researching.

Let's hope Mark A. buys the Bucks. He would be so different from Kohl!

•Brewers officials are telling other clubs that owner Mark Attanasio will be the one who ultimately decides if his team will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline

Of course he would. He's the principle owner. He should have the final say.

It's one thing for a for an owner to make decisions regarding the direction of the team. It's another thing for an incompetent owner to make decisions regarding the direction of the team. It's yet another thing for an incompetent owner to meddle with specific moves, trades, or signings.

Mark hasn't shown himself to be incompetent or to be someone who would needlessly meddle. If he's willing to spend to buy at the deadline, or is willing to stretch his payroll to re-sign Greinke rather than trading him, that's fine by me. If he doesn't want to, that's his prerogative.

To the poster above me, Ned Yost just texted me that he disagrees with you and wanted me to relay the message to the board.

Another duo I could get behind, figuratively speaking only of course, would be Olt and Feliz from Texas. I could see Feliz being available in a Greinke trade. Olt will be an excellent 3b with power numbers in two years.

I say we go back to the days of Wendy Selig. Attanasio has been just the worst thing to ever happen to this team in the history of time.
