If Aaron Rodgers signs a cap friendly deal, he is officially my favorite Packer of all time. It reminds me of when Braun signed his first deal and said something like "What can I get with 80 million that I can't get with 48 million?"

I just think it is a little early to do an extension unless Rodgers brought up the subject.

I don't recall Favre ever holding out over money. In fact, I recall the Packers extending him, more than once, prior to when his contract was even close to expiring. It's not uncommon - I've seen the Pats do that with Brady and the Colts did that with Manning. They didn't wait until the last second. They got it done to get it out of the way and be able to plan their cap long term. That's what I think the Packers are trying to do here.

He definitely held out for money with the Vikings and I thought he did the same thing another time.

How is an extension now help us resign guys when Rodgers is under contract for 3 more years? I guess it sounds like a real extension since a redo would hurt our cap situation.

This also isnt the only stream of income for both players. They both are heavily marketable athletes.

Given that he and his "buddy" Ryan do everything together I could see it happening. :eyebrows:
