Re: Bellator Fighting Championships - Season Six

Bellator disclosed they will be announcing two signings of note Monday/Tuesday. The clues are one is for today and the other for the future, also one is a wrestling monster. Steve Mocco just turned pro and was a rival of Konrad. I'm guessing he is the one for the future and wrestling monster. Sarnavskiy is my guess as the one for today, but that could go in a lot of different directions. Could be Khalidov or Bibiano also. Those would be the realistic best case scenario possibilities. Hopefully the clues don't pertain to a professional wrestler and Zuffa performance reject, or then I'd start to get concerned about the Viacom influence. At this point I'm still of the mind that it's limited and there could be some wisdom in some of the recent signings.

The signings were the long awaited one of world #1 LW prospect Alexander Sarnavskiy (BFC is cleaning up at Rusfighters) and like RZ alluded to previously U.S. #2 freestyle wrestler in his weight class (BW in MMA) Shawn Bunch.

I'm always going to watch Daley fight.

If there was ever a Dolce Diet candidate, he'd be my pick.

He can't do that many things, but damn are his hands nasty.

I'm halfway through this Brett Rogers interview with Ariel, and despite what others were saying, it just makes me dislike him more.

"counseling and church" doesn't impress me after you beat your wife. Later on he talks about MN's strict laws for these domestic issues. Then basically says advice to walk away in those situations. Seems to me you should not beat your wife (especially for a pro mma fighter), REGARDLESS of your state's laws. lol

Also, admits to still drinking, despite being legally forbidden to drink, and after admitting that alcohol affects him in a really negative way.

d-bag.

Yup. Brett Rogers has no remorse.

It's everyone else's fault.

Just lost his temper.

He's going to get knocked out again, hopefully, and then he can go fight in India against Todd Duffee.

Then he was talking about some random drama he had and how some people want to take you to court, etc. but he just wants to go out to the street and settle it the old fashioned way.

Dude, you are kidding me? You are a professional mma fighter.

He's a dolt.

And a can that was fed to pad records.

But from an interest standpoint, Bellator is really doing a good job of getting some names.

I'd like to see them start threatening Zuffa a bit more in the future and taking them out of their comfort zone.

Bellator is on TV this week in spite of what another guide screw-up indicates, but this one might be worth skipping altogether, especially with the UFC on simultaneously, or at least watched on DVR fast forward later. This card has been tenuous from the beginning and then suffered from a similar affliction as the UFC's are recently. Would be card inclusions are dropping like flies. Richard Hale and E.J. Brooks got ruled out before the weigh ins (Hale got sick and Brooks missed weight). Those were the remaining fighters on the card I was highest on. And before that Lins, Van Buren, and Vanttinen were off for various reasons. Those were among the LHW's I was highest on. This card and tourney should be a disaster.

Bellator are the ones who scooped up 6-1 capoeira sensation Marcus Lelo.

Not optimistic he'll do very well, but it should be fun to watch.

Bellator is back on the air this week. Here is the full card (as of right now) that will play out on Friday...

Karl Amoussou vs. Bryan Baker
Emanuel Newton vs. Attila Vegh
Travis Wiuff vs. Tim Carpenter
Marius Zaromskis vs. Waachim Spiritwolf
Paul Daley vs. Rudy Bears
Chris Barnett vs. Tom Sauer
Ben Saunders vs. Brian Warren
Raul Amaya vs. Kenny Moss
Shanon Slack vs. Matt McCook
Jason Carapelucci vs. Paul Barrow

BTW, if you're interested in the recovery of former rising heavyweight Blagoi Ivanov, who was on his death bed a month or two ago, he's confident he'll make a comeback to the cage, and sooner rather than later, a statement which is supported by how he looks in the following video. http://vbox7.com/play:0da289d582
