According to sources, Rob Hennigan, 30, is the leading candidate for the Magic's GM position.

Hennigan is currently the assistant general manager and is in charge of player personnel for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

We Aren't getting GM ever, as in we will never have another GM. He's the ultimate ruiner. Ping FTL!

The Orlando Magic Daily guy (his name escapes me at the moment; he is credible though) tweeted earlier that he's heard something similar to what Ping is reporting, so there's that.

Current job: Assistant general manager/player personnel, Oklahoma City Thunder

• Native of Worcester, Mass.

• Attended Emerson College, where he played basketball and was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Co-Player of the Year for the 2001-02, 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. (Emerson College is the alma mater of former San Antonio Spurs Assistant GM and current Thunder GM Sam Presti. Hennigan and Presti did not attend Emerson at the same time.)

• Joined the Spurs as an intern in 2004-05, was named the team’s basketball operations assistant in the summer of 2005 and was promoted to director of basketball operations in Sept. 2007.

• Hired by the Thunder to director of college/international player personnel during the summer of 2008 and was promoted to his current position before the 2010-11 season.

• In his current job, he oversees the team’s college, international and professional scouting departments.

He has been a major part of OKCs scouting and draft prep process. Spending alot of time with Presti cant hurt either. I would be excited to have a GM with a new vision and that brings excitement to our front office.

Maybe he can get our hands on the Thunders 1st they are looking to dump also.

Hennigan is solid choice, and i'm convinced it would be youth movement as well...
