Where are the Gloomy Guses?

Post#1 » by cantball » Tue Apr 3, 2007 4:44 pm

Come on guys,we all know someone who has no faith in the Brewers to ever be good, and I know that some of you fall into the category. So,whether you are a Brewer or Cubs fan,and a sad guy in general, let's talk about it.
By the time I get to you
Now the sky is turning blue
The stars they disappear
One by one with daylight dear
And yes you're in my head
But that doesn't make you here
And I've lost all my friends
But you're the one I miss the most

Im not gloomy at all right now as a Brewers fan. I would be really scared if I was a Cubs fan though. No rotation at all. NONE. However they should be able to score runs once they get their plate discipline down...

Well let's not get carried away. It's been one game. Last year started 5-0 and everyone was drooling about the playoffs.

Im not getting carried away at all. This is a super solid team from top to bottom. Obviously we have some questions, yes. Obviously there are some areas of concern. But those concern areas should be easily addressed with braun when he's ready and hopefully maybe adding another lefty pen arm. Thats about it. Also barring any injury issues...

no, we need to take advantage of oden's height and make him a pitcher.

Dave Debussiere was a PF for the knicks and a pitcher for the white Sox.

Danny Ainge played basketball and baseball, although not at teh same time. that cubs pitcher played football for notre dame.

oden could easily become a 2 sport star.

as for durant, he looks like a shortstop.

I've grown up in Milwaukee and can call myself a Brewers and a Cubs fan. Remember when they were in different leagues? You have to remember that this rivalry between the Brewers and Cubs exists mainly in the Brewers fans mind. It is a minor rivalry for the Cubs that takes a back seat to the Cardinals and White Sox. Can it grow to be a good rivalry, yes...

I'm fine. As far as I'm concerned, this just makes things more fun and interesting down the stretch, especially me living in Northern Illinois.

Never has this giant mass of the Midwest been this enthralled in baseball this late in the season.

I'm obviously not as happy with the team as I was a month ago, but we're in a pennant race with the team I love to hate. Unless we completely bomb and/or the Cubs continue to look like the '98 Yankees, this should be the most exciting two months of sports Wisconsin fans have experienced in over a decade.

Yep. They were never as good as the 25-11 start, so they are right on pace with what most normal fans would have expected.

Hi, I am a Cubs fan and my team has not won a world series in 98 years.
Whether it is Steve Bartman or the goat my team is full of many curses.
I don't mind fighting with the Brewers for the #1 spot in the NL Central because I hate the Astros and Cardinals much more than the Sewers er I mean Brewers.
Thanks,

Don't get it why people saying we blew the lead in the NL Central. Who expected chicago to be this bad? No one . Chicago is a team that should be above .500. Now they were playing .700 baseball that won't contiune. But it will be interesting to see who ends up with the NL central.

I think a lot of them are at brewerfan.net if you're looking for any one in particular.

I have about a month before I can get too upset about any one game. The series losses are bad enough for now, but so far we've held off the 10-game losing streak and I'm hanging in there. That was crushing last year, aw that **** sweep in Florida among the other sweeps. "His name is Dan Uggla!" Son of a bitch. Even the worst stretches of this year have been easier in comparison, and I'm cautiously optimistic.

Or look on the message board on the Brewers site. I stopped posting there once trolls over ran it a few months ago, but they overreact more than Luke23
