P Jeff Suppan

Padres Probable Lineup:

P Jake Peavy

Losing the first two was not the way to get this series started, seeing as how this will be the toughest pitcher we'll see from them, although we have hit him before, as he is 1-2 against us with an ERA above 4. Braun is hitting just like everyone wanted him to (so far (knock on wood)), so lets hope that gets other people going. JJ and Prince can't be having o-fer's with our potent offense the way it is. Lets get something going early, none of this playing from behind crap!

Because he's a much better player. He has an OPS of .988 versus righties this year and had a .908 OPS versus them last year. The guy simply kills righties.

Gwynn has cooled off big time after a great start. He has no power. The outfielders play him like he's a pitcher. In his last 10 games played:

.258 BA
.303 OBP
.290 SLG

Gwynn has basically had one good 30 AB stretch in his career. His minor league numbers certainly don't project him as being an everyday player, especially in RF where he is a joke.

Gross has a track record of great hitting versus righties. There is no reason he shouldn't get PT if Hart is scuffling.

Please state your reasoning.

Edit: I see it above. But the only thing about gross is that all he can do is hit a homer or walk. But I guess if you put him the 8th hole that is a good thing.

He's hitting .279 against righties this year and hit .294 against them last year.

I definitely do not think he should play against lefties, but it is pointless to keep such a good stick on the pine against righties.

Gwynn
Hardy
Braun
Fielder
Estrada
Jenkins
Gross
Counsell
Suppan

I think that's the correct lineup

Gas = $3.45/gallon
42 ounce Coke at McDonald's = $0.79
Being swept by the Padres = priceless

Very tough stretch. I just got home and zipped through the Tivo's game in about 15 minutes, not much to stop and watch.

Return to Milwaukee Brewers
