WT: Wade Brings in Tim Grover

Post#1 » by RatherUnique » Tue Jun 19, 2012 4:17 pm

During a postseason with some potholes, Dwyane Wade has looked outward as well as inward — even taking a one-hour trip from Indianapolis to Bloomington during the second round to visit with his college coach, Tom Crean.

Sources told the Post that, last week, Wade also reached out for a trusted friend and adviser to come to him.

Tim Grover, the founder and owner of Attack Athletics, is best known for all his years training Michael Jordan, and has been working lately with Kobe Bryant in Germany. After returning to the United States, Grover went with Bryant to Los Angeles, when Wade requested he come to Miami. With Bryant’s permission, Grover flew to South Florida, arriving on Saturday, watching Game 3 of the NBA Finals from AmericanAirlines Arena on Sunday night, scheduled to stay a few days to work on Wade’s body and mind.

No, he stopped seeing Grover either last summer or two summers ago because he wanted to train more with LeBron.

A couple of us have said he needs to go back to Grover and luckily he called him up!

he probably trained with lebrons strength and conditioning coach. which makes no sense since he isn't familiar with wade and probably put wade on brons program.

grover knows guards, he trains only the best. mj, kobe, wade

I've been telling people since 09-10 he needs grover back. he isn't even close to past his prime. he just needs to be in proper shape to last a full season.

im glad wade made the proper mental decision to get grover back.

no it was some other dude there were some videos on it i think he was some military guy he was supposed to work with him during the season too. Improve his balance actually it seemed like it helped but he couldn't stay healthy probably because the condensed season. I agree Wades not coming into every season in the best shape you can see just by his body too

He trained with a guy named Ed Downs in Florida
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/10513/how-wade-big-three-stayed-big-in-lockout

From what I read of his offseason workouts last year his workouts were based around functional strength exercises instead of weight training to reduce injury. Yet, ironically this was the most injury plagued season of Wade's career since '07-'08. Like yourself I was clamoring for Wade to go back to Grover this summer, looks like Wade wants to go back to him even sooner. He trained with Grover even for the 10-11 season and I rank that season probably his 3rd best in terms of athleticism and he turned 29 that year. In terms of athleticism I'd rank them as:

'08-'09
'05-'06
'10-'11
'09-'10
'04-'05

I expect Wade to look much better next year after training with Grover

can you explain why you ranked it like that
what makes him more athletic in 11 than 10 and 05
what makes him more athletic in 06 than his other young years 04 05 07

if you watched the way his body changed in 08-09 you will know why that year is #1

the olympics in that year he was ripped and had athleticism during the 08-09 season when he had a historical statline.

so athleticism dosnt go from up to down with 0 variation

Wade was effin' ripped to shreds during the Olympics. I remember watching this documentary about the Redeem Team and they had videos of him during the 04 Olympics and 06 FIBA then they had an interview of him with Bron and Melo for the 08 team and he was massive! Plus, him shaving his head helped to; it was so surreal.
