Sullinger flagged for injury, whats this mean for PHX?

Post#1 » by Dragic13 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:18 am

Back injury has put him maybe below PHX in the draft.

And Phx has alrdry drafted Markieff Morrris so we dont need a PF.

With everyone sliding up one spot "maybe" where does that put PHX?

Alot of people still think Waiters is the one that said that PHX guranteed him a pick but havent given him a work out? Unlikely.

Moving Sullinger down puts out of reach of many players such as Austin Rivers or Marshall.

This is a location to post thoughts on this new material. (I dont care if i can dig through 4 different threads and go deep into the abyss to find 1 person who mentioned this)

Lets make a HQ.

And I hope we start making more threads when they are relevant. When they fall off the radar. combine them with whatever thread you want but lets be active and communicate!

PHX SUNS!

Waiters cancelled all workouts, so how are we supposed to bring him in for a workout. And if we did give him a promise, why would we need to bring him in? I mean if we promise to pick him, then we have already seen enough of him to know we want him, thus eliminating the need for him to workout for us.

Marshall will still be there, i just pray to god (which i dont believe in) that we dont draft Marshall. I will seriously go ape s**t all over this board with rage.

Once Waiters/Rivers/Lamb are off the board, things will get real interesting. Ross will still be there, but is he that much of an upgrade over SG/SF's available in the late 1st round? If not, then is there a bigger difference between that PF/C talent at #13 than latter in the 1st? I am confident that we will end up with a 2nd 1st round pick.

#13. Ross ------OR-------- Harkless/Miller/Taylor/Wroten/Baten/Cunningham with a late 1st.

#13. PJ3/Sullinger/Henson/Leonard ------OR------ White/Melo/O'Quinn/Nicholson with a late 1st.

That is the decision that our FO will be facing. We are looking at filling 2 positions with 2 picks. We would like a SG/SF with the #13 and a PF/C with a late 1st, but might have to switch it up to PF/C with the #13 and a SG/SF with the latter pick.

Sullinger was never a lottery pick so how does this "move all the other players up one"?

It doesn't affect lottery teams imo.

Are you really atheist?

And if Lamb/Rivers/Waiters are all gone at #13 then I think the Suns will trade the Cavs #13 for all of the Cavs remaining picks or they will trade Boston for their 2 first rounders.

Maybe a trade with Houston is also possible....

Yes he was. He was a top 5 pick last year, and has been rated as a lotto pick ever since. GS was really really high on him (and still might be regardless of medical red flags), as was Detroit.

Houston isnt going to trade with us just to move up 1 pick. If Waiters/Rivers/Lamb are all off the board, then i think we go PF/C with the 13th. PJ3/Moultrie/Henson/Sullinger are all in play. We are keeping our pick, the FO has made that clear, we will just look at obtaining another pick.

Tough to say what I would do in this situation. I think you can't take the gamble and hope that he'll slip to 21 or 22 (Boston deal?). I simply don't know what Boston is looking for in the draft. Would they take Rivers? If so, you draft Rivers and if Sullinger falls to let's say 22, you can trade River's rights and get Sullinger and another young prospect.

Moultrie, Henson, Sullinger would all be such a waste with #13....IMO.

PJIII would be nice but I can't see Golden State passing on him.

And why would the Warriors want Sullinger when they have a similar player in Lee making big $$?

Suns will probably make a trade and get a second draft pick. Sullinger could be a nice gamble later in the draft.

I get the Sullinger hate - but I disagree with it.

The guy will be productive in the NBA. Like Dejuan Blair before him, and Batum before him - people sleeping on Sullinger will regret it.

I have Sullinger going to the Spurs and becoming the next Tim Duncan, ruining Suns players/fans lives for the next 12 seasons.

Umm too bad Sullinger isn't 1/100th the defensive player Duncan is...in fact I would even go as far as to say that A'mare is a better defender than Sullinger.

Sullinger's ceiling is Zach Randolph.

That's funny cause you are the one who said "Nobody is an atheist in a foxhole!"

And he was just responding to you. He may be wrong but you are the one who initiated the response from him.

I mean, did you even look at the website? What about Pat Tillman...he is the most famous military atheist of all time, down to his dying day when he was getting shot at. Watch his movie.

God is just for pretends, like the Tooth Fairy, for adults.
