He also said Dwight didn't mention wanting out when they talked today. Take it for what it's worth.

Real shock there, Schmitz and the Sentinel once again trying to run a superstar out of town to stir up news.

Seriously why does it seem like the writers in the orlando area actually hate the magic?

Didn't Jemele Hill get to ESPN by hating on us?

That much is true. Though really there were probably other reasons ESPN scooped her up as well.

If you've seen her on 'Around the Horn ' lately you can see she hasn't gotten much smarter since departing OTown.

I know some on here are not a fan of Shot Doctor, but found myself listening to his program this morning to hear him talk about the Magic hiring Rob Hennigan.

He said that Alex Martins and the magic staff could not have made a better choice. He said if the owner is still willing to spend money and they are willing to let Rob do what it takes to win, then expect multiple championships in Orlando

Edit: forgot to mention he said he would take Mike Malone over Brian Shaw as coach of Orlando

Ok, so Ping broke the GM story, and he broke the story about Dwight going to management to fire Stan. So, has he gained any respect or is he just still a troll? To be honest, I dont even know......

He's not just a troll. He obviously has some connections; having said that, like just about every other reporter, he will still (a) share a story based on a tip/inference that just isn't right, and (b) report stuff that just don't come to pass, despite the fact that his contacts have given him the information. In other words, he's a reporter, you can't fully believe anything he reports :)

To me, he's raised his value a little. Maybe with Otis' ouster and SVG's termination, his 'sources' are more in the loop with what's going on...?

Which Orlando plan do you most like most

A) Rebuild with Dwight - be patient get assests over the years and try and win

B) Houston trade proposals ( basically Lowry,2 picks, Dally, filler) - good starter for rebuild especially picks and Lowry good player better contract

C) Golden State trade proposal ( basically Lee,Curry, Thompson) - Young nuclues with injury history and a lifetime more money for Lee but big upside and good players

Option A is the only way we contend or even get to the playoffs. I still say rebuilding is a last resort option. Some teams can come back from it, others can't.

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo

Even through all the song and dance with Bobcats, ex-Magic guard Brian Shaw, now Pacers asst., was more interested in Orlando coach job.

I think Ping has legit sources, but he is quicker to report things than others, so when they don't pan out, he looks stupid.

If Dwight demands a trade, you have to go with option B. That would be the best way to rebuild. We'd then have the 14th, 16th, and 19th picks in the draft plus a core of Lowry, Redick, Dalembert, and Davis to build around.

That's sure as hell better than Lopez and Brooks.

Yup. Plus, we'd probably have a high-lotto pick in 2013 draft and capspace to go after Harden/Bynum.

Without looking at numbers and just pipe-dreaming it right now...

Lowry
Harden - 2013 FA
Parsons
Davis
Bynum - 2013 FA

and 2012 #14, #16, #19 and maybe 2013 top 10 pick to fill out the bench?

I agree Lowry and picks is a good way to start plus gives us cap flexibiilty for next year when Bynum becomes fa, or if we want ellis, iggy or smith

rebuild with Dwight if we plan on being contenders in the next year. Hopefully dwight shows a little patience in addition to his loyalty.

Option B if they take JRich and Hedo while sending KMarts expiring deal and parsons good young core with a ton of capspace next year

He has until July 1st to opt out of his contract when Free Agency begins.

"I don't want to play in the Olympics without a contract," Williams said.

Williams could miss the Olympics if he makes good on his word and opts out. USA Basketball officials will pick the 12-man roster in June, while the free agency signing period starts on July 1. Training for the U.S. team starts in Las Vegas on July 6, and the team travels to London July 17.
