Love this trade for the Pistons. However, I am unsure if Philly would be ready give up Iggy for Drummond. I also think that they like Vucevic a lot.

Why wouldn't we just keep Drummond and try to sign Iggy as a FA since we project to have cap room the summer he's free?

I've tried to explain this in other threads, but it hasn't really gotten through.

If Drummond actually DOES drop all the way to number 9, it means his value will have gone DOWN. Teams don't pass on a big with that kind of size and athleticism unless they're getting really negative impressions from him, either in work ethic or genuine talent (we've heard issues with both).

This deal isn't even remotely close.

I don't see how he falls all the way down to us.

Portland at #6

GS at #7

#8 is likely his floor....because IF he falls this far, TOR will trade back. Someone will leapfrog us. Maybe Portland (#11, and two high 2nd rounders).

If Young Dru falls to us and Dumars wants to trade him, we need to call Orlando...Maybe they'll do a Howard for Drummond swap...maybe...

Oh for sure. They might even throw in Anderson and an unprotected first too!

A case could be made that some GMs would be cautious about spending a top 8 pick on a player who is a much, much worse free throw shooter than Ben Wallace... just saying.

LOL. Do you seriously think Philly would actually considered this trade? Time to stop playing 2k12.

The irony is that there's no way Detroit would do this trade now.

I was thinking the same thing. Drummond has far more value than Igoudala at this point. 20 year old center that posted a PER on the level of Shaq's rookie season that will be on a rookie scale contract for the next 3 seasons, or a 29 year old wing player who's beginning to decline and can't shoot, and apparently is degrading into being as bad of a free throw shooter as Drummond anyways.

Good GMs dont pass up on Drummond, clearly.

Some posters around here get too much credit because they post as if they're superior while others get none.

If you go back and read old threads you'll find a lot of quality posts from the same posters and a lot of crap from the same (other) posters.

Kirsten for example, the guy was annoying as fck and this boards are a lot better without him however he was right in a lot of things he posted (I'm naming someone who doesn't post here anymore on purpose to not bash or inflate someone's ego).

People around here need to stop kissing the asses of some posters and start thinking, that's what I'm trying to say.

So yeah, the whole "I'm not going to mention anyone specific so as not to bash" feels a little hollow when context makes it absolutely clear who you're bashing....

To all-

The reason I bumped some of these old threads was, first of all, instant entertainment :-) But mostly to remind us that we can all get so passionate about who to draft or what trade to make, and we really won't know for another year how good that decision would have been.

I will be the first to admit that I pick some winners and some losers - if I picked all winners, I'd have a different job for sure.

So go ahead and f--k with each other, but just don't take it too seriously, otherwise I'm sure I'll find some old thread that will embarrass you :-) (evil laugh)

That made me laugh. Right or wrong I post my opinion, based on what I see, what I know and what I read. Nothing will embarrass me, at all. I would be embarrassed if you find a post where I'm kissing someone's ass, or saying something ridiculous like Andre Iguodala is a better shooter than Prince, you won't find it.

You will find me being extremely happy when we drafted Knight, I thought he would be a big time player, sadly so far he is a bust.

You'll find me being happy when we signed a very talented Charlie Villanueva, sadly he is a lazy dumbass who waste his talent.

You'll find me being happy when we drafted Daye, same as CV. Extremely talented player who could be something special but will do nothing in the league because he is mentally weak.

You'll also find me being THE ONLY ONE to say Mayo would excel at the right situation and 1 year later a lot of people saying that.

You'll find me wanting to draft Greg Monroe 18-20 months before we actually drafted him when most people around here had no idea who he was.

Those things just reinforce my point. People need to stop looking at poster status and actually read what they are posting.

A guy with a huge post count doesn't mean he is a good poster, A moderator or former moderator doesn't necessarily knows wtf he is talking about, even tho SOME actually post as if they do all the time, which is not your case, but happens a lot for example ( and I'll use an example from somewhere else to not get anyone around here butthurt) at the trades and transactions boards where the moderators word is law even tho they don't know anymore than a regular Joe who post there.
