I know this because I own a Dave Winfield one in this style.

The way they wrote Tampa Bay a lot smaller is the same style used too

i would rock one of those Padres jerseys in a hot second. i'm a sucker for brown on yellow vintage stuff.

It's a pretty sweet jersey. I like it

How does a team that didn't exist in the 70's have a throwback jersey to the 70's?

For those that don't know why;

From a Tampa Bay Rays press release:

The Tampa Bay Rays will turn back the clock to 1979 when the Detroit Tigers visit Tropicana Field on Saturday, June 30 at 7:15 p.m. Tropicana Field will be accented in a ‘70s theme and Earth Wind & Fire will perform following the conclusion of the game as part of the Rays 2012 Summer Concert Series produced by Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road. This marks the tenth “Turn Back the Clock” game in Rays history.

The Rays have designed a hypothetical uniform from 1979 that is intended to be a lasting fixture for Rays fans, fully embracing the style of the era while keeping the Rays modern colors. A patch on the left sleeve of the jersey features a City of St. Petersburg seal that was used in 1979.

“We want to thank our great partners at Majestic Athletic and Major League Baseball for helping bring this unique concept to life,” said Rays Senior Vice President Mark Fernandez. “Everyone with the Rays is excited to make this an annual event, and something Rays fans will look forward to every year with great anticipation, starting with our Turn Back the Clock night on June 30.”

I don't understand your joke. But I will just assume that it wasn't funny.

its ok. i'll walk you through it.

first, a groupie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupie

then, there's Sweet Connie, who inspired "We're an American Band" by Grand Funk Railroad.

http://www.lyricsfreak.com/g/grand+funk ... 62175.html

Her "act" was apparently to provide musicians with oral sex while she had a stick of butter in her mouth. hence, the sale of butter sticks increasing due to groupies giving plenty of oral sex during the "turn back the clock" night.

Tuxedo baseball uniforms. Now I've officially seen it all.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
