I feel like the resident realist when I read these type of threads as I'm not as optimistic as everyone else.

If we get two rotation players between the mini-mle, #27 and minimum signings I would be happy.

sign Oden for minimum
draft Doron Lamb

Nash/Chalmers
Wade/Lamb
LeBron/Battier/Jones
Bosh/Haslem
KG/Anthony/Oden

That gives Nash and KG a legit shot at winning the next 3 NBA titles, and to do so as starters for at least the next year or two. Oden gets to enjoy the ride from the bench at a minimum, but with the outside chance that he'll actually heal up and get healthy. If he eventually does get healthy a year or two from now, he could really help extend and solidify the team's championship window.

KG for the mini-MLE is unlikely as is Oden for the minimum.

Your Nash trade is putrid for them. They would be better off just letting Nash leave for nothing

Talk around the leauge is that the Grizzlies are likely to sell their draft pick. Riely should be all over it. with our cap situation, finding gems in the draft will be our best option to add depth and talent.

@ESPNSteinLine
Confirming what @DraftExpress just tweeted: Wiz have agreed to trade Rashard Lewis and 2012 second-rounder for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza

Might as well take Okafor off the list. PEACE.

I wonder if Riley has any interest in a bought out Rashard Lewis. IMO he's done.

Also, I'm not really high on Jamal Crawford.

Edit:
OK not really Free Agency related but I'll throw this in here...

Ethan J. Skolnick ‏@EthanJSkolnick
Asked Norris Cole the other day if he was cool with playing in summer league. Said he'd b up for anything. Will b letdown after last nite.

He needs to. Pittman and whoever we draft can join him.

I agree, they could use it to get some more experience playing against pros and get better.
We have an option on Dexter for 860k for next year, im pretty sure he's in our plans for the future.
I believe they both can grow into being rotarion players. Cole desperately needs to work on his Jumper and finishing around the rim. if he can get a realiable jumper he'll be good enough, he's already showed he could be a good defender, handle the PG duties and create his own shot (sadly, he usally misses). Dexter needs to keep working hard on his body, keep getting in better shape. lose some more weight, gain a little more speed, dont get tired from playing for a long strech. once he does that he'll be able to avoid those silly fouls he picks up. also he just needs to play alot. in summer leauge, in training camp..wherever. he needs to get experience playing in this level..that's the only way to get better. he has the tools to be an above average Center in this leauge, i really believe that.

Could local star be feeling the Heat?

Norfolk State basketball star Kyle O'Quinn has spent the past couple of months flying around the country, working out privately for 14 NBA teams and attending three group combines. All in preparation for next week's NBA draft.

During his senior year, O'Quinn was largely off the radar. But his big performance in Norfolk State's stunning March Madness upset of Missouri changed all that. Now he has leaped into the draft discussion and climbed steadily up the ladders of the mock drafts.

So much so that one prominent blog has him going in the first round to the Miami Heat, who are currently one win away from winning the championship. Could O'Quinn be teammates next year with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade? We shall see.

^ He's 6'9" without shoes and 240lbs. That strikes me as Joel and Haslem territory. I think we should be trying to get someone at least as tall as Bosh, otherwise we might as well draft a PF an play Bosh fulltime at C. PEACE.

Sammy D is being shopped:
Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
The Houston Rockets are shopping Samuel Dalembert, according to sources. He may be packaged with one of Houston's first-round picks.

Also, looks like Mavs are looking at Fab Melo.... :|

A realistic scenario.

Draft Festus
3mil - sign L Odom, or another quality big
min - sign Doolings, or another vet PG who can defend, & shoot the 3.

Chalmers - Doolings - Cole
Wade - Miller - Harris
Bron - Battier - Jones
Odom - Haslem - Anthony
Bosh - PIttman - Festus

Now this is an actual possibility.

They will never take this offer but it would work financially.

Dalembert, & (NO) pick, for Miller, Cole, & Pittman. & if the bend my arm then ill throw in this years 27th pick.

Replace Turiaf with Camby
Amnesty Mike Miller
Bring in Ray Allen for the MLE

We already have a top PF (Bosh)
The best to ever play (LeBron)
Wade will be healthy too
Chalmers has shown that he is a top level point guard during the finals...unlike Westbrook his decisions aren't selfish and won't kill us. I'd take him over Westbrook 9 days a week because we don't need his offense from the point. He's been exposed as a one trick pony.

Draft a euro with our first and let him develop for a few years...

If they follow this pattern they'll win not two not three not four not five ...

I'm pumped!

SammyD + 1st rounder means Houston is either trying to move up in the draft, or trying to land someone actually worth a damn. We're not giving them Bosh, so the only thing worthwhile would be Joel+Chalmers/Cole+2nd. I just don't see why they'd want that though, since they already have two PGs better than either Cole or Rio. I mean, they can keep Lowry or Dragon if they want, so I don't see how it would help. Rio could conceivably be a combo guard for them to spell Dragon/Lowry and Martin, but I don't see it. I think it's time to forget about Dalambert again. :( PEACE.
