i don't see Brock/Mir 1 happening. That happened because Brock was super green. I'd be surprised if Fedor could sub Brock from the bottom.

Brock/Cain had Cain get back up once Brock took him down. Can Fedor do that? I have my doubts.

What are you guys talking about? Fedor retired after the fight. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/6/21/31 ... kout-rizzo

Nobody should tell Fedor to show some pride because he doesn't appease you in the now. He's accomplished more than anyone ever has in the sport, arguably. He has nothing left to prove, and no more money he needs to make for financial security. Thus I'm glad he'll be retiring. He's pushing 40, fights, plus he's taken extra hits through combat sambo. This is the right time. Yesterday was the right time. But good to see him going out on a positive note. Obviously Pedro the Rock is over the hill himself, but Fedor displayed some of the speed and explosiveness which made him so dominant in his prime. Maybe he could have still accomplished more, but that's not necessary. R.I.P. Fedor's career!

I'd be surprised too, but its possible, and that's why Fedor has much more than the James Toney "puncher's chance".

He almost subbed Silva at the end of the 2nd after the beating of his life. Antonio Silva doesn't have Brock's wrestling, but his submission grappling is much better than Brock's imo. Fedor could sub Brock.

But yea, seems like Fedor is done. Seems like the same for Brock. So this is probably a pointless exercise.

That was a lot of friggin' pomp.

You can't check a kick and turtle MT-style against Fedor, he'll eat you alive. Just a useless fight.

Fedor's hand speed and power is awesome.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

He threw two beautiful kicks as well. I mean, absolutely perfect hip-turnover. One was with his lead leg, the other that final leg kick.

"I think it is time I quit," Emelianenko said, according to the Russian news site Ria Novosti. "My family influenced my decision. My daughters are growing without me, that's why it's time to leave."

In his post-fight comments, he said he harbors no thoughts of avenging his previous defeats, and retires with a clear conscience. While he will continue to compete in combat sambo, he's done in MMA, leaving on the strength of a three-fight win streak, with his final one marking his 23rd career first-round stoppage victory.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

In all honest I would prefer he retired than continued fighting guys like Ishii and Rizzo. There really wasn't anyone out there worthy of fighting someone of his stature outside of Zuffa so any fight he took carried the risk of losing to someone with little to no credibility.

That's what I was pointing out when I said if he did fight again he should fight someone like Todd Duffee. Win or lose you know Todd Duffee is going to bring a fight when he comes to the cage. You can't stand just there and let Fedor get into a rhythm. It looked like Rizzo was looking to counter Fedor's shots at best and downright tentative at worst. Unless he landed a home run shot the result was a forgone conclusion.

Its kind of silly that he continues to compete in combat sambo, no?

Still taking the damage, no prestige or huge paydays?

I'm not gonna lie. After watching that fight, I got "enlightened" and started to shadowbox and tried to emulate Fedor's quick hands. My shoulder hurts today. Damn that guy could throw fire. I also tried to show zero emotion.
