2012 NBA Draft - Part V

Post#1301 » by dandrews » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:22 pm

I just hope that they take the best player on their board, whether that be MKG or Beal. If they think MKG will be better than Beal, then don't not take him because we have Trevor Ariza

Whoever posted the Okafor for Kevin Martin trade completely sold me (and probably got my hopes up). Add Crawford, Singleton, protected 2013 pick, etc. Just make it happen.

PLEASE EG! Trade for Martin and draft MKG!

Por seems to really like Lilliard, but may be wary that he won't be around at 11. GSW likely won't take him because they need bigs to backup Lee & Bogut. Tor has plenty of bigs, but need wing depth.

What about this deal:

Wiz trade #3+Blatche for #6+Stuckey (expiring)
Det trades #9+Stuckey for #3+Blatche+Kurt Thomas
Por trades #6 for #9+Booker

MOCK DRAFT:
1) NO-Davis
2) Cha-Robinson
3) Det-Drummond
4) Cle-Barnes
5) Sac-MKG
6) Wiz-Beal
7) GSW-Henson
8) Tor-Waiters
9) Por-Lilliard
10) NO-Rivers
11) POR-Ross

Wiz new lineup:
PG: Wall/Stuckey
SG: Beal/Stuckey/Crawford
SF: Ariza/Singleton
PF: Nene/Vessley
C: Emeka/Seraphin

Stuckey expires alongside Emeka & Ariza

Just letting you guys know, our Cavs source just gave us something

This sucks because I really, really like Beal, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it's true.

If Cle wants beal its a done deal...unless CHO wants MKG. No reason for Charlotte to stay at 2 when they can get either TROB or Barnes at 4.

were screwed like usual unless we believe MKG is a better talent than Beal

Oh wow, that would mean we'd be looking at Harrison Barnes in the Wizards uniform.

why would we take Barnes when MKG is the better player? If this trade goes down which it will...either draft MKG at 3 or trade the pick for 6 and 11

If that rumor is true and Cleveland takes Beal, we better have the balls to take MKG, even though he's a bad fit, skill-set-wise.

Drafting Harrison Barnes would really make me question if this off-season was just a bad dream, Dallas-style.

Yeh, I'd be totally fine with MKG. Hell no to Harrison Barnes.

If that is true then that is just one more reason why the Lewis trade was dumb, telegraphing that the Wizards wanted Beal.

It's too bad we couldn't have waited to deal Lewis after the draft, so as to not tip our hand regarding Beal. What's that? We could have?

If we draft Barnes or Drummond, or trade for #6 & #11, I'm good.

I doubt the trade really told anyone anything they didn't already know.

We wanted Beal.

If the trade does happen, just take MKG for cryin out loud.
Or maybe trade for 6-11 and take Waiters and another player.

All this talk about Beal is ignoring one thing...maybe they've wanted MKG all along?

:dontknow:

I keep coming back to this - why does the presence of Ariza automatically mean no MKG? Ariza would be fine in a 6th man role, getting minutes as a defender against opposing swingmen and running the floor.

Do we still need a shooter? Sure, but it's not like the ONLY chance we will EVER have to add a shooter is with the #3 pick in the 2012 draft and after that we will NEVER have the chance to add another shooter for the rest of time. The Lewis trade was much discussed here before it happened, but it was still unexpected even by those of us that were suggesting it. So there's no reason to think that there isn't something else in the works to add a shooter if MKG is the pick.

Calm down everyone. The season doesn't tip off until November. Heck, the offseason technically hasn't even begun yet (July 1) so let's see how this thing plays out.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but usually don't trades that happen this early always involve the draft in one way or another?

It's because of that belief that I feel like another trade is either agreed to or in the works. Now that's not a guarantee that one will happen as things are always in flux. I mean just think about it for a second. Why make the trade now? It had no effect on our draft position, had no effect on New Orleans draft slots. Why the rush on either side?

My theory is this: General consensus is that NO benefited more from the trade than we. But what if the real trade is during the draft but didn't have the piece to pull off what the other team wanted. Now we have 3 quality big men who all have some open market value. And now if one is traded, we have depth to cover the loss.

Just a thought.
Just let the young boys play! It's truly the only hope at this point.

I thought the whole point of the Lewis trade was to win more games in the short term. How exactly are they going to do that with a roster full of wings who can't shoot along with a pg who can't shoot?

If they did want MKG all along then what was the point of trading for Ariza?

Just draft MKG, just draft him if CLE moves up

Man, I'm so dreading Harrison Barnes. I saw a clip on CSN where Ernie held him for a moment during the workouts... I'm about to cry.. .SHID!

Don't throw in the 2013 pick unless it's protected. Okafor is only on the books for 2 years, Martin for 1. You don't sacrifice first round picks in order to shuffle around short contracts like that.

And the trade keeps getting worse and worse. What a disaster. We are going to assemble the worst shooting roster in NBA history.
