Nate, what about this trade idea I posted on the draft thread:

Por seems to really like Lilliard, but may be wary that he won't be around at 11. GSW likely won't take him because they need bigs to backup Lee & Bogut. Tor has plenty of bigs, but need wing depth.

This one scares me, mhd. Stuckey expiring this coming season could turn into Stuckey playing for OKC the following season with EG at the helm. Mike Miller/Randy Foye all over again. Also, with the #6 the Wizards might pick Barnes. The #3 and Blatche could be Barnes and nothing else, if Stuckey is not re-signed.

I guess you could ask what is different about Stuckey expiring than Kevin Martin expiring?

Otherwise, I like the exchange and see Stuckey as a decent plug in at sG.

Actually, I had it wrong, Stuckey expires alongside Emeka & Ariza, so he'd be here for 2 years.

Stuckey is another player who can't shoot. We've GOT to find guys who can stretch the floor. Also, I don't like the idea of sacrificing Booker plus 3 spots in the draft just to dump Blatche. Finally, Detroit laughs at this. They're not unloading Stuckey and absorbing Blatche's $22M in salary just to move up 6 slots.

Where is the part where we trade Okafor for a shooter?

Our trade with NO has me thinking that another trade is in the works for the draft. With Okafor we now have front court depth to be able to handle the lose of a big man. What about this:

Detroit Trades:

#9 Pick in 2012 draft

Why for them? Detroit is looking for a young, talented big man with that pick. Seraphin because of his strong 2nd half is a known NBA commodity, who oozes potential. In my opinion a better option for them than selecting a guy like Myers Leonard or John Henson.

Why for us? We need shooting but we love MKG. We select MKG at the #3 pick and then select Austin Rivers at #9.

Why would we trade Seraphin for a questionable SG prospect? Efficient low post scoring is not that easy to find these days. I wouldn't take rivers in the top 15 to be quite honest.

I think it's terrible. Seraphin is easily the 2nd most valuable player on our roster and may even become the most valuable. You don't trade him because we added two overpaid over-30 vets who play his position. You trade one of the overpaid vets.

Also, explain to me why you believe Austin Rivers is going to be any better than Jordan Crawford?

Rivers is nowhere near ready to play in the NBA. Trading a young center on the verge of being starter-caliber for a shooting guard who has as many questions as Rivers does is just... I could at least see a little logic in that deal if you know Weiters would be there, but he probably won't, and I still wouldn't trade Seraphin for Weiters.

is WAY better than the number 9 pick. I think mgmt really likes KS
and he's going to be here at least through his rookie contract and RFA.

^ not sure if Portland would do that. They are better off drafting the best PG available at the 11 spot and not giving up matthews.

maybe I am being a bit greedy but Hinrich is still a good guy to bring off the bench, I haven't following him recently so I'm not sure how down his production is.

Kyle Lowry posted a PER of 18 while playing perhaps the best defense in the league at the PG position. He was arguably worthy of All Star consideration last year if he didn't play in the PG stacked Western Conference. I don't understand why you keep posting Houston trades where they add Lowry as a mere throw in. He's the best player in the deal.

They could accept this deal because :
Lowry don't want to play anymore with Mchale
Dragic says he will resign if he is starter
Lowry only shoots at .409%
Lowry is just 6.0 and smaller than 80% of pg starters in NBA
I'm very sceptic he'll be all star one day

If HOU wants a few more, we have : Crawford, Booker or 32 overall
