Miami Heat next goal 2012-2013

Post#1 » by mirrornick » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:47 pm

I feel that now that they achieved what they desired, the championship, the Heat now has to set another goal and that is to win more than 72 games next season. Jordan and the bulls achieved it and still managed to win the championship. If heat can break the bulls record, then the 2012-2013 season will be much more excited and the heat will look even stronger than ever.

Anyone else feel like they should aim for the 73+ wins next year? should that be their next goal?

Do you guys think it's a possibility?

By your logic, you would be against the Heat winning 72+ games?

Goal is simple: back to back champs.

I don't care if they're the 1st seed or the 8th. The playoffs are all that matter at this point and as long as LeBron Raymone James is lacing up for Miami they have a shot at another ring.

Ha, I just thought about it, and Wade is gonna play like 29 minutes a game next season.

Monkey is off LeBron's back, scary to think how good he'll be now playing without fear/pressure. I think you guys dominate next year, especially with the East in shambles. Here's hoping for a Heat-Wiz first round match-up

Rest, rest and rest. we need to manage minutes in regular season.play role players, play cole, play them to improve..

in playoffs, we need healthy team. regular season record wont matter. take a look at celtics, then tanked regular season but gave us toughest battle in the playoffs.

also, next year with rose out. and boston collapse this offseason.unless some trade happens, even by tanking regular season we would finish 1st in the east

I voted 55-59. The regular season didn't matter to this team this season either. I stood firm on that all year. We were coasting big time this season. I can see us coming up short of 60 next season as the guys just don't care about it anymore. Next season is about developing Cole, Pittman, Harris and whoever we draft. I think Spo manages minutes through the regular season, and I don't expect to see the kind of energy and focus we saw this postseason until next playoffs. People will look and say we got complacent and fat off riches, but it will just be this team understanding what matters most. This season it seemed a bit arrogant to take that approach, but that's what is it. The ring is the thing. Nothing else matters. PEACE.

Honestly if our big three play in the Olympics trying to dominate the regular season is going to be unrealistic. Personally I hope they don't but you know at least Lebron is going to. My goal would be win around 60 games improve as a team, continue to work on things like Lebron in the post and Wade playing off the ball and be ready for the playoffs. I am more concerned with seeing thing like Wade develop a confident mid range game then how many wins we get.

First thing - Don't play in the Olympics. I love Team USA, but this country has enough talent in my opinion to win the gold without our guys. The Heat fan in me wants them to rest. If they play in the Olympics, I'll be cheering them on.

Second - I'm done with the regular season - not watching it, just done with expecting our best play to occur at that time. This team has "disappointed" in the regular season for 2 years straight. By that I mean people expected them to dominate and get the best record in the league with ease. They haven't. I don't think they care too much about seeding. That's fine with me because we've still gone to the Finals twice and won once. This team has proven they can win on the road and in just about any scenario. Next season, try to not be fatigued and injured going into the playoffs. That's all we can ask for.

This core group of players has sort of earned their right to coast. They've proven themselves.

good thing is, every team plays against us big.Ever since big 3 came, and now one finals + a championship. we are the team everyone looks for... so this helps us to prepare for playoffs.

I worry about his recovery for next season

I'm pretty sure after winning, they definitely want to rush to the playoffs. They are going to have some low points and people will say they are done. But they just want to get to the playoffs once again.

I'd say 55-59. Maybe even 53 games.

2013-14

Can the Big 3 all opt out and sign more cap friendly (lower) contracts? Is that allowable under the CBA?

They took less money once and the rest of the NBA changed the CBA to try to screw them. How about they take less again to keep stacking the team?

Honestly, I kind of enjoy the regular season. There's only 5-10 really good matchups that are worth watching, but I like seeing every game :D

I really don't care about getting the #1 seed anymore. We've been for #2 for two years now, and both years we've made the Finals. The only thing that should matter is having everyone healthy and rested come playoff time.
