i dont know if spo plays bosh for a whole season at center, that's more physically demanding than pf and could be detrimental come playoff time

Pairing Bosh with another tall (6'10 - 6'11) PF that can guard both positions (like KG) would be the best option, especially if they can hit the mid-range at a good clip. Outside of KG or the draft I'm not sure how to get someone like that. One option might be trading Miller (if he was going to retire) to Washington for Blatche. It gives them cap relief and removes Blatche from their locker room. Blatche with the Big-3, Riley & Zo around him he might really excel.

This would also preserve our MMLE for Nash :)

Doesn't seem like anyone has mentioned Spencer Hawes. He would be a nice addition and maybe if Garnett will ponder idea of another ring, we can get him to sign for mini-MLE :)? Andrew Miller, Jason Terry, and Chancey Billups (if he's close to where he was pre-injury) would be nice options. The latter two points mentioned also play SG, so I don't think they would mess too much with our young guard rotation and would be a nice alternative when Mario & Norris are acting up.

Best somewhat realistic Scenario :

Get Jason terry for mini MLE,
get Camby for vet min,
Draft a Center like Fab Melo/Festus Ezeli
Buy an extra pick and draft a PF like Andrew Nicholson/Royce White/Arnett Moultrie

By next year's playoffs rotation should be something like :

Mario/Terry/Cole
Wade/Terry/Miller
Lebron/Battier/Miller
Bosh/Nicholson/Haslem
Festus Ezeli/Camby/Pittman

We build a much deeper, younger roster. EXTREMELY versatile with at least 4 players able to play in multiple positions depending on matchups, devlopment and hot streaks (Terry, Lebron, Battier, Bosh).

No one is beating this team.

Risky optional move : trade Miller for Andray Blatche, if we cant draft a PF.

Release Eddy Curry
Let Howard Retire
Package Mike Miller if he wants to retire
Attempt to package Harris with miller or in order to acquire a first

Sign Steve Nash - questionably
Sign Ray Allen - probable
Draft Doron Lamb
Attempt to Acquire Another late first rounder in order to draft a young big
Sign a vet big. This might mean letting go of pittman.

PG: Chalmers/ Nash/ Cole
SG: Wade/ Allen / Lamb
SF: Lebron/ Battier/ JJ
PF: Bosh/ Haslem/ Anthony
C: Camby or Dalembert/ Young Big/ Turiaf or Pittman

Sign and trade:

James Jones ($3.35M) + 1st round pick for:

JJ Hickson (re-signed at $3.75M)

James Jones will probably retire anyway. JJ Hickson is better than any draft pick we could possibly get, and he could play centre, not to mention the fact that he and LeBron played well together in Cleveland.

Really hope we pick up a good center. Someone like Marcus Camby, Kwame Brown, or Samuel Dalembert seems realistic.

Even if we run with a Bosh/LeBron 5/4 every now and then, we really need an actual center.

only problem with JJ Hickson is his defensive liability :-? we are defensive juggernaut, i don´t think he will fit to our team cause of this

Which free agents will Miami target? Steve Nash, Chris Kaman, Andre Miller, Ray Allen, Grant Hill and Jermaine O'Neal:

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
The Heat may pursue Brandon Roy. Sources say he wants to join a contender and he'd be a low-risk, high-reward signing:

Now that phase 1 is complete. Riley must initiate phase 2 (The Gambit of Truth)
1. Howard, James Jones and Miller will retire but not before amnestying Miller and his contract to free up some cap space.
2. Eddy Curry will be let go as his main goal was to steal food from Pittman so that he would lose weight and be seen as an attractive trade chip to rebuilding teams.
3. Offer vet minimum contracts to Brandon Roy and Greg Oden (let them take their time in rehab as they are low risk high reward contracts)
4. Sign Marcus Camby for the minimum (Juwan Howard redux)
5. Trade Terrell Harris/Dexter Pittman/Joel Anthony and our guaranteed top 55 2nd round pick to Minnesota for Anthony "Magic" Randolph in an unprecedented yet genius move. The 6'11 freak athlete who will blossom under the tutelage of the big 3 and vets such as Camby,Haslem,Turiaf and.....
6. Ray Allen for the MLE!!!!! Replaces Miller and Jones.
7. Draft Doron Lamb, another deadly spot up shooter with the potential to replace wade once his time is up.

pg. Super Mario/Nat Kid Cole/Lamb of God
sg. D-Jesus/Shuttlesworth/Lamb of God/B.ionic Roy
sf. King James/GODtier/B.ionic Roy
pf. Boshtimus/Haslem/Magic Randolph
c. Camby/Magic/Somali Pirate/OLDen

My ultimate off season would be to get KG and Ray Allen...have LeBron convince Ray to take the Vet Minimum and sign KG to the MLE. We can offer KG what Boston can't...a chance to play for a title and the chance to play with a clutch top 5 PG (Rio) and the Big 3. They Done!! Offer the Vet Min to Camby as well and Amnesty Miller...Draft Lamb as well...trade Jones and our first to move up since hes retiring anyways

PG - Rio
SG - D-Wade
SF - The GOAT
PF - Bosh
C - KG

6th man - Ray Allen
Bench - Anthony Camby Cole Battier Haslem Howard (Mascot) Lamb

THEN EVERYONE WOULD BE MAD!!!!

Simple trade that balances the starting lineup and helps us immensely:

Joel Anthony, Dexter Pittman and cash(maybe future picks)

for

Channing Frye

Channing Frye would be the perfect compliment next to the Big 3... A 3pt shooting center who still gets 7 boards and defense has gotten better(surprisingly on phoenix) averaging over a block a game his last two seasons...a legit 6'11... and smart...didn't block many shots early in his career but drew a lot of charges. Now he blocks shots too.

Then focus on Ray Allen or Steve Nash for the back court...

We don't need JO. We really don't. I hope we aren't trying to get his ass back. He is useless. Only old Center I'd want is Camby. JO is injured TOO MUCH WE DO NOT NEED HIM. ugh.

I don't know how we'd get them, They will command too much $$. Kaman is too slow to play in our system. I'd love odom playing center for us = match up nightmares for opposing teams.

Bosh
Odom
Lebron
Battier
Wade

I know Kaman is a white boy but, you really dont understand Kamans game. I doubt we will be able to sign Kaman, but there might be a chance for a sign and trade, might. Lamar Odom, with his mental state last year i doubt he will get a solid contract from a legit team. He will not want to play for a bad team and Miami resurrected his career once and with the relationship he has with Riley he may want to resurrect it here again with a chance for a ring. Plus his wife career would take a big boost in Miami.

I want Odom back as well but it's looking like the Clips have been in contact with him recently, & he was seen having diner with Sterling.

I am not even going to talk about Kaman cause anyone who thinks we can get him if delusional, & lost my respect.

The guy would not take a buy out to sign with a contender, only so he wouldn't lose his bird rights. The Guy is only looking t get payed & we do not have the $, unless we trade Bosh for him & i say hell no never.

Last time I checked hornets have Kaman as part of their future

Would camby take the min? I think it's unlikely.

Screw Jason Tarry. If he wants to be a part of this team then let him sign for the (MIN). & the same goes for Nash, Allen, Miller, Billups, & all other one way players who could not defended.

NO DEFENSE, NO PLAYING TIME.

Doubtful that anyone helps the Heat get better through a trade after just winning the title (especially as they already look primed for more). The only realistic hope is in the draft, cheap veteran signings, and the internal development of players like Chalmers, Cole, Harris, and Pittman.

Return to Miami Heat
