Wiz Fan - Kevin Martin trade?

Post#1 » by WallTown02 » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:49 pm

After our trade with New Orleans, we have a crowded rotation at the 4/5 with Nene, Okafor, Seraphin, Booker and Vesely.

I'm pretty sure a rocket fan was on the Wiz board talking about a trade centered around Martin for Okafor.

What are your thoughts on that?

I'm not sure what other wiz fans think, but I'd be willing to part with Okafor and a combination of Singleton, Crawford, protected 2013 pick, to get it done.

I think most Rockets fans want Martin gone, but im not sure Okafor is what the Rockets are looking for. Maybe im wrong though. If the trade did happen, I would hope they would go for singleton and the pick, with top 5 protection. I dont think yall need Martin though, assuming you pick Beal.

I saw the thread.

Yes, don't care what you send our way, as long as it is not a bloated contract.

There is no way we would include the 3rd. I was thinking the best we could offer in such a scenario might be Okafor+C. Singleton For Martin. Martin fills a need but he the cap flexibility isn't nearly worth our chance at drafting Beal/MKG.

Okafor is a huge negative. We would need substantial benefit to take him on.

Okafor for Martin is a joke of an offer.

Agreed. Kevin Martin is still a scoring machine and some people seem to want to trade him for scraps, bad contracts, and left over pieces from other teams. Doesn't make any sense at all.

As a Bulls fan, I was wondering if you would do the following trade for Kevin Martin:

Martin for

S&T Asik at an amenable price for both parties (let's say 4/25)
Rip Hamilton (5m this year, unguaranteed for all but 1m next year)
Bulls Lotto-protected 2014 draft pick (protected for lets say 3 years)

It would give you a serviceable 2-guard in Hamilton, and a nice young defensive anchor who provides nothing on offense, but whose rebounding, shotblocking, and defensive positioning are as good as it gets at the position.

Thoughts?
