1. Wall, Mack
2. Green, Lamb, Crawford
3. Ariza, Singleton
4. Nene, Booker, Vesely
5. Howard, Seraphin

Only part I don't like about your plan is Green. I'm not sold on him. Give me Rush. I do like Lamb and hope that the Zards draft him with their second pick. but only if they end up going with MKG rather than Beal in round one.

With the tutelage of Nene and Okafor, Drummond has a high percentage of being a better player than lebron James. You don't pass on a player with this potential and our special environment just to fill the need of a shooter. The chances of us ever getting a player with a higher potential than lebron James snf having players like Nene and Okafor on the roster at the same point in time...are astonomically slim once this draft is over. If he is there, take him Leonsis and realize just how many years the wizards have to suffer to be in this position. We can get a shooter with a high basketball iq easily in free agency but you are never going to get a big with a higher ceiling than lebron james.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

We aren't getting Beal, the Cats want Robinson and they know that he will be there at 4 because Ernie has already revealed his hand. The swap is going to happen.

A Davis
Beal - Cavs swap
Wiz
Robinson

Are you sure people in a professional organization would have made that swap without figuring out possibilities? I'm sure they now who can be taken after davis and in case of swap who they'll take. It's not the end of the world if we take mkg for example. As it stands no one knows what the team wants but with about four equally good prospects no one can screw us over. Draft day will be entertaining at he very least.

Editing to add that swap would have happened whether we made the trade or not or showed our hand especially if teams knew with or without the trade we wanted beal they'd leapfrog us anyway if they really wanted him.

Nate--with our FO, would you really be surprised? I wouldn't be surprised if Grunfeld traded Vesley for Brandon Rush tomorrow.

I can shoot jumpers if I didn't have a hand in my face too.

There's 1 franchise player in this draft, Davis. Everyone else are in tiers, which ranges from fringe NBA players to "possible all stars." It would be awesome to grab Beal simply because he fits a need, but if we trade down (attach Blatche and maybe Singleton as well) and ship them to Portland for their 6th and 11th (Waiters or Lillard? at 6, Rivers at 11?) then that would be good too.

I was asked to put rate guys on tiers. After Davis, I think Lillard, Waiters, MKG, and possibly Andrew Nicholson will be real solid. Nicholson is a quiet, kinda strange IMO dude, but his game speaks loudly. He strikes me as a guy who is better than he thinks he is. He's a scorer. A finished scorer, and an athletic one, too. I think he's as good at SF as at PF. I see no way the Wizards draft him at 32, as they'll be thinking perimeter and he'll likely be off the board.

The guys we have already identified as being better than advertised next season will be Jae Crowder and Marcus Denmon. I also like Will Barton.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

My personal hope at this point:

MKG
Crowder

Two guys who compete like maniacs and will run through walls for the team. Next to Seraphin/Nene/Okafor/Wall, that's a team I can cheer for regularly.

CCJ, Nicholson is so smooth. It looks like your watching a SF, but he did measure out pretty well for a PF. He's probably the most skilled offensive PF in the entire draft. My only concern is on the defensive end and what type of effort he'll give there but I'm confident he'll carve out a nice niche in the league for himself.

I think Terrance Ross is better than Tony Wroten. I think Terrance Ross is better than Austin Rivers. If he were at UNC, he would possibly be rated higher than Harrison Barnes.

Ross seems like a guy who loves to operate on the perimeter and he's a jump shooter. He's not strong on taking it to the hole and getting to the line. He has a fade away. DX compares him to Nick Young and I see some of why. However, Ross strikes me as a tougher defender and a much more intelligent player. Ross strikes me as the type player who is still improving. With added strength he can become a near all star NBA player. I love his fluidity, his hops, and his stroke. Toughness in taking it to the hole, court vision, passing is lacking with him. That said he's a good defender.

mhd, IMO Terrence Ross is a pretty significant upgrade over Crawford. I'm asking myself what made Klay Thompson a better prospect? Honestly, Ross is right there with him IMO. Wall is the perfect PG to pair with Ross. If the Wizards traded down with Portland and selected Ross at #11 they wouldn't regret it. He will be good. Seems like a guy who simply needs body strength and a tighter handle to turn into a complete beast.

if somebody trade up to number 2. the Wizards minds well trade the number 3 pick for next season pick or something and tank again. no point going forward without shooters and a roster full of bigs..

edit:
did I just discover Wizard's plan?

DC SPORTS teams are cursed. what you expect?

first you all need to find out just why they are cursed before you can remove it.

that would be an interesting thread topic- asking people to weigh in on reasons for the DC sports curse.

Unfortunately, can't get to the new thread button on my iPhone. Anyone else want to start that thread?

A two year rental of Ariza and Okafor has not caused me to change my draft plan whatsoever.

I would still draft Beal, and if he's not there, MKG. Cleveland can trade for Davis and Beal for all I care--at 3 we can take MKG and walk away happy.

The only remaining fear is barnes. For the love of god, EG, do something right.

I wont be shock if we did take Barnes. Ernie like high character guys as he claims Barnes is and he's definitely in the class. I did like Thomas Robinson as are guy before we made the trade deal. But as of now i would take either Beal or MKG and i call it a great draft. But if somehow we can get another first round pick without giving up to much ill be all for it. :)

Hey, that might not be a bad trade as long as we can sign Dwight to a long-term pact.

Sure, that was the plan all along. Then we draft Doron Lamb and sign Danny Green or Brandon Rush with the MLE, and we're set.

Wrong Green. Gerald.
