5 Assets you'd most like to retain

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:53 pm

Who/What are the 5 assets we currently have that you would most want to keep on this team?

For me it is:

1) Motiejunas
2) Parsons
3) 14 Pick
4) Dragic
5) Patterson

Switch pat pat with Lowry (even though it's not likely we keep him I still wish we could) and put parsons as #1 and motie as #2 and I agree

1.) Parsons. Has proven he can play at this level. Great value considering the money he makes.
2.) Patterson. Had a really poor 2nd year. Still like him, don't want to sell low.
3.) Motiejunas. Have watched him quite a bit. Still needs to improve in lots of areas, but he has too much potential to be some kind of throw-in. Also don't think you'll get much more than the value of where he was drafted.
4.) #14 or #16. If we don't trade up we should end up getting somebody of good value there.
5.) Greg Smith. I like this kid. Would like to see us develop him.

Obviously I want to retain Dragic as well, but it all depends on how much money he'll command. If somebody throws some ridiculous money at him, they can have him for all I care. The same goes for Lee and Camby.
Of course if it wasn't for Dragic, Lowry would probably be #1 on this list. I just think Lowry will be moved for the best attainable value, if it's at least close to what you'd have considered if Dragic didn't step up when Lowry got sick.

If parsons is our most valued asset we are in serious deep sh&t.

Im not drinking that parsons coolaid. At best hes a 3rd 4th option on offense even in his prime. I know he exceeded our expectation but i dont see it. His rookie year was comparable to landry fields and i think like fields and patterson before him, hes gonna hit that sophmore wall hard.

Considering what we have(that is to say not much at all) i have highest hope for dmo. Hes got star potential with his size and skillset. Whether he realize that potential i dunno.

I like for his defense. Really do not care about the offense

I'm gonna go out on a limb here.

Parson will be our 2nd or 3rd leading scorer this year. His 3 Point% is going to go up, and he is going to be our best defensive option behind Lee and Camby. (Assuming they are around next season!)

Smith has a 95% chance that he won't be a star in this league. He simply does not have the last name for.

I agree somewhat. I mean Parsons is good and I definitely want to keep him but people overrate him on this board. I know he plays hard and exceeded expectations but really he's the #1 asset? He's a player that will be a great ADDITION to a team with one or two really good players but we're not going to build a team around him...

Obviously Parsons isn't our #1 asset. Lowry is. But with Dragic, Lowry might be expendable.

Now Parsons is expendable too and I don't think he'll get much better than he is right now, which is why you probably won't get anything of great value for him.
So my point is that I'd like to keep Parsons because he's a nice building piece considering his production/cost.

The same goes for Patterson, D-Mo, #14/16 and Greg Smith.
