What is their motivation to trade him this offseason? He's cheap next year and he's more valuable to them than Andre is. Why don't they just let it play out another year?

Because you can get a very very valuable player for Harden right now.

I know harden didn't have a good finals, but he was EXTREMELY valuable to them. He took over many of the other playoff games and looks like one of the best young players in the entire league. Over at least the next 3 years Andre will cost significantly more than Harden. I think it's crazy to suggest they are a better team with Andre over him.

But it can also be argued that Iguodala made the Sixers a relevant team in the east and gave them a snowballs chance in hell against the Celtics.

If you were an OKC fan, honestly, who would you rather have going forward? I think this all about people trying to justify Andre has more value even though they know he doesn't. They should hAve played Sefolosha more in the finals, he's a very good defender and he's way cheaper than Andre.

that thabo contract was such an incredible move. presti is a genius.

i do think that iguodala could give them a dimension that harden doesn't give them over the next few years. a westbrook/iguodala/thabo/durant/serge lineup would be deadly defensively. it might even be fast enough to rotate on those 3s lebron and friends killed them with. malik rose would love the switching potential with that lineup/

it all comes down to whether they want to push for it now rather than have the definite for many years in the future. i don't doubt presti will be conservative, but it's nice to dream.

Of course they would rather have a 20+ ppg scorer on their bench. But after this Finals, they are too young and have a bona fide all star sitting on their bench because he doesn't work with Westbrook and Durant in the starting lineup.

Maybe Iguodala isn't THE answer for the Thunder, but he is an answer. And since we are on a Sixers basketball board, entertaining the idea is intriguing since its not outside the realm of possibility.

Agree. I also think Iguodala fits in nice with the Thunder because he can disrupt players like Wade and James to a point where Durant and westbrook can take over. The one thing to watch in OKC is that coaching situation because a new coach may want to start Harden in the lineup.

I think the only way harden would ever be able to wear a Sixers uniform , is if okc doesnt win next year and he doesn't start, and we can sell him on being a "star" here on a max deal....

I guarantee we could get Harden for Jrue straight up. Then trade Turner, Thad, Vucevic and #15 for Dwight and sign Deron to the max. Deron-Harden-Iguodala-Lavoy-Dwight.....probably would have to do like the Heat and have mostly vets that wanna compete for a championship sign for cheap for our bench but that starting five would be ridiculous. This scenario really wouldn't be impossible at all, it would just all depend on Dwight agreeing to be traded to Philly because I'm 90 percent positive Deron will go wherever he goes. For the Magic it would give them three talented players under the age of 24 plus pretty much a lottery pick in this years draft. It would be real similar to the package the Knicks sent for Melo. This trade works after we amnesty Brand.

Would be shocked if Harden goes anywhere ...too many guarantees in this topic for something that is such a long shot.

Harden for Jrue straight up?

Why? So they can have 2 point guards in Westbrook and Jrue playing together? Doesn't make sense for them.

SF.
Sounds like Utah & Toronto still have some interest in iguodala. Any rumblings about GS?

So, is all you know about right now the TOR deal that PHI doesn't really like as stands and the Utah deal, which is Philly's to take if they want it?

Well, if they're not adding the 7 or 8 pick by trade, it would seem that they don't think Waiters, Lamb, Rivers, etc. will be a major impact guy. If that's the case, I agree, there is no way they should take on Biedrins or Jefferson for two years. Draft the BPA at 15 & get your shooter elsewhere. I think Korver's contract isn't guaranteed & Chicago is way over the LT. Have you heard of any interest in bringing him back if he becomes a FA?

Would you guys do Iguodala for Granger and Hansbrough? Would give us a scorer and a classic Philly hustle player to play a Nick Collison type role for us.

Certainly makes for an intriguing offseason.

I think the better question is, why would Indiana do that trade?

They wouldn't... The trade offers are not looking great. Hopefully once we get to draft night something better comes up. Because if it's just Toronto I would stick with what we have.
