Yep. I wouldn't have a big problem with acquiring Marshall, but I do have a problem with him at #13.

Marshall's game is a total floor general, something the Suns wil need with Nash gone. But it doesnt help us in other ways that we need most- young wings with high potential.

If we really want Marshall, trade #13 to Boston for #21 and #22. I doubt Marshall will be there at #21, so flip Dudley and #21 to the T-Wolves for Johnson, #18 and future protected 1st.... that way we will leapfrog the MAgic who would snag up Marshall.

Use #18 for Marshall
Use #22 on Miller.

NBATV had a show on called NBA TV Draft HQ, and they had Kerr, Mike Fertello, and Ron Thompson, and they all were talking about draft mistakes that they made. Kerr said we were really high on Jrue Holiday, and were going to draft him. We were then talking to GS about trading up to #7. The deal was not consummated, but was in the works when they drafted Curry, who we wanted. Since we thought we had Curry, we passed on Jrue because we didnt need another PG (Nash/Curry/Dragic) and opted to go with Earl Clark.

He then said, "Oops.". :(

Funny thing was, earlier in the show, they were talking about draft smokescreens, and Fertello cut everybody off and said Don Nelson was the smokescreen MASTER! He said, " Whatever Don Nelson tells you is a lie". Never trust Nelly.

Wow!!!! That's crazy cause I wanted us to get Jrue Holliday!!

I wanted either him or Darren Collison.

Interesting we would have taken Jrue. I do remember when we traded Clark in the Gortat deal that Nash mentioned he really hated to see Clark go because he had REALLY progressed in practice and was looking really good. I kind of expected him to show something by now. But I think SVG plays young unproven rooks about as much as D'Antoni did (Redick is an example...took him a while to get on the court).

I wouldn't be totally upset about Marshall unless we took him over one of the wings. I know it isn't likely, but if Waiters/Lamb/Ross/Lillard are all off the board, it wouldn't bother me too much if we took Marshall at that point.

One thing about Marshall is, I think, out of this draft, he is one of the few guys who are a sure starter in the league for a number of years because he is elite at at least one thing.

Having said all this, I would prefer to get a great shooter, for Nash to come back, get another quality pick who ended up being a stud (whoever it may be....maybe even a guy like Quincy Miller) and then get a pg of the future in a draft with more quality pgs.

Definitely worth a watch. Easily my favourite prospect in the draft this year.

Yeah, he could be a poor man's Durant....his strength is shooting and he has a similar size/length...6'10, 7'4 wingspan. Falling because of the acl injury...well we have done good work with guys that have had those (Hill, Amare).

There's one thing we know for sure: If the Suns don't acquire another 1st rd pick in this draft, it will be because they didn't want to, NOT because they tried and couldn't.

Plenty of teams are shopping their 1st rd pick so if the Suns truly want to improve and get some young players to rebuild, the Suns should easily come out of this draft with AT LEAST TWO 1st rd selections.

I personally would be very disappointed if we don't trade for or buy another 1st rd pick. I would lose all my confidence in Blanks and Babby.

Defensively (on the ball, off the ball help, passing lane disruptor, rebounder and shot blocker) who would you rather draft?

And off the ball (transition, alley-oop recipient, coming off the creen shooter) who would you rather have?

Mine are

Defense:
4pts Ross
3pts Waiters
2pts Lamb
1pt Rivers

Off the ball:
4pts Lamb
3pts Ross
2pts Waiters
1pt Rivers

For Kerrsed I will add; with ball in their hand

4pts Rivers X 1,000
3pts Waiters
2pts Lamb
1pt Ross

Ross=8pts
Lamb=8pts
Waiters=8pts
Rivers=6pts

Why would we look at Quincy Miller when we already have Markieff? Quincy is a better outside shooter but Markieff isn't exactly awful outside, and much stronger inside.

It looks like Miller is slipping in all the Mocks. He shot very poorly at the combine. He could be a great value at the end of the first/early second. I mean this kid was the highest ranked player in his high school class before he blew his ACL. Might take a couple years but he could end up being a nice player.

I'd rather take harkless over miller. Less injury history and more athletic at te three.

Chad Ford had a new article about draft tiers...nothing real new, but here are a couple of excerpts..

So what do the tiers look like this year? After talking to several GMs and scouts whose teams employ this system, I put together these tiers. (Because the teams do not want to divulge their draft rankings publicly, the teams will remain anonymous.)

Tier 3
Andre Drummond
Damian Lillard
Dion Waiters

Note: This is a smaller than usual Tier 3. These are the only three players (outside of the five mentioned already) who were consensus top-10 picks among the GMs I spoke with. Of the group, Drummond and Lillard had every vote. Waiters was on most of the ballots. Drummond is the toughest guy to peg. One team has him No. 2 on their draft board. Others are much more nervous about him and see a high bust potential. He barely missed the Tier 2 cut. Interestingly, a few teams had Waiters in Tier 2, while a few teams had him in Tier 4. That's a pretty big spread.

Tier 4
John Henson
Perry Jones III
Terrence Jones
Jeremy Lamb
Meyers Leonard
Kendall Marshall
Austin Rivers
Terrence Ross
Jared Sullinger
Tyler Zeller

Note: After Tier 3, it's very difficult to find a real consensus here. There are 10 players here for a total of five spots left in the lottery. A few players, such as Jeremy Lamb and Austin Rivers, got a few votes in Tier 3. A few others, such as Kendall Marshall, got some Tier 5 votes. But in general, this group makes up the 10-20 range of the draft. (We should note that I received some of these responses before GMs had a chance to review Sullinger's physical. He is in Tier 5 on some teams' boards now.)

If we could trade down and get Marshall and PJ3, I would be very happy with that. Both are high risk/high reward players. But the Suns have to gamble at this point.

The slide of PJ3 from last year to this reminds me alot of Michael Finley's slide years ago.

Kerrsed was very high on Miller - what do you think if he's there at 13, K?
