Trade Offer

Post#1 » by SmashMouthRod » Sat Jun 23, 2012 6:52 am

How do you Sun fans feel about a Darren Collison for Robin Lopez trade offer?
Gives the Suns a young point guard that is talented in the event Nash leaves; Gives the Pacers their backup 5 they been trying to acquire.

Suns Lineup
Collison
13th Pick
Dudley or Hill if he doesnt retire
Morris
Gortat

I'd pass. You never trade a Big for a small. Specially when that bigs upside is way higher.

With that being said, if you want Lopez, it would cost Collison/#26.

I would do it. Collison has at least shown in New Orleans that can be a capable PG...guy was dropping double digit assists in a lot of games there.

But Indy changed his style of play. I think he would work in Phoenix. He's kinda like Brooks but looks for his teammates more. Also not a cancer like AB.

Lopez sucks. I would take Indiana's top 59 protected 2nd rd pick for him.

Hey you stole my line, and I agree I'd do it. Indy could probably just sign him if they wanted him.

I don`t like Collison at all. I`d rather have Brooks (on a reasonable deal) as starting pg if Nash leaves next year.

Offer 26th pick and we can talk about Lopez.

No, thank you. I have a feeling Lopez will tear up the league next season.

Here is a clue....If Lopez sucks so bad, why do other posters come here seeking to attain him? Plus the "experts" never talk bad about him. I don' think most of you guys understand the value of the big. We talk abou giving Gortat up for scrubs and late lotto picks, when the 'experts' say he is a fringe all-star.. 15 and 10 from your 7ft'r is good!!! Lopez is a backup and he came on strong last year. Now "get off his jock and tell your bleep to come here"

You can simply sign Aaron Gray for the BAE and have your 7 footer with the same production as Lopez. If you can get a young prospect for a guy who failed in 2 1/2 of his 4 seasons with the team so simply have to do it. Do you really want to see Lopez getting a 5 year / 30 million deal from us?

Lopez is like Greg Oden, except Oden has an excuse as to why he sucks.

Um because "other posters" don't know any better?

And experts don't talk about Lopez sucking because he sucks so bad they don't wanna waste their time talking about him. He hasn't shown anything to say that he will be good so all the experts expect to have garbage production from him. He's not like Kwame Brown who actually showed a bit of promise and potential and then fell off the map.

But I agree about Gortat. He's a very valuable asset who we can get a lot for. But Lopez? No. I'm willing to bet that the first 4 centers drafted in the upcoming draft will probably turn out to be better than LOWpez!

Robin Lopez sucks. That's the bottom line. He's a 7ft piece of trash.

Actually, I would argue Robin Lopez is a pretty good backup center. I think the reason we're all so down on him is because he showed much more promise in 2009-2010 when he was paired next to Amare and before injuries greatly hampered his athleticism.

No I'm down on him because he averaged 5 pts on 46% shooting to go with 3 rebounds (2 defensive rebound) per game in 14 mins per game.

To average TWO DEFENSIVE REBOUNDS while playing 14 mins per game for 64 games....I don't even know what to say to that, other than the fact that he's trash.

Also don't forget that he was among the worst 5 big me defenders in the league last season.

This. I wouldn`t mind him on my team on 3-4 mil per year.

And Lopez` hatred by some of the fans here is amusing.

If he would have been a great center in the NBA he would have shown it 2 years ago. Instead he plays 10 minutes a game on a mediocre team.

I love the Suns and will love them until the day I die, but we just need to get real here. I understand 7-footers are worth more than any other position in the NBA, but this guy is not worth more than Darren Collison, I'd take this trade in a heartbeat.

You obviously didnt watch him play in the second half of last season, when he finally was healthy, In quite a few games, with limited minutes, he outperformed Gortat, with better movement on offence, and much better shotblocking.

People think that Telfair was the primary reason for us going on that huge run after the ASW, I agree with them, but Lopez was almost as important.
