Where do the Wizards fit into next years playoff picture?
With the wizards moving into a win now mode people have begun talking about us becoming a playoff contender next year. Obviously a lot depends on free agency but as of today how would you rank the Eastern conference heading into next season?
Here's my list...
Miami
Indiana
Philadelphia
Chicago
Atlanta
New York
Boston?
Orlando?
Washington
Milwaukee
Cleveland
Toronto
Detroit
Brooklyn
Charlotte

The words Wizards and Playoffs do not belong together in the same sentence.

It's not even July yet. Let the offseason play out before we determine our playoff chances.

With those fat contracts, Nokafor and No-riza will be able to buy some massive flat screen HD TVs in order to best enjoy the playoff pictures
In Rizzo we trust

It's not impossible. Depends alot on whether your draft this year is as bad as last year (passing on K.Leonard), or hits out of the park. Waiving Blatche would help too of course.

Gee, thanks for the reminder

We are all waiting to see how the Wizards balance this roster by the end of the summer.

Why is everyone so pessimistic? I'm not predicting we're going to win 50 games, but I see no good reason why we can't be better then every team below us on that list. Just look at it, every team below us has serious issues and both Boston and Orlando could be rebuilding.

What do you think this is, the Optimism Thread?
Frankly I don't care if the Wizards make the playoffs or not with this current squad. It's entirely possible that we get the 8th or even 7th seed with a maturing Wall, Nene, Beale or MKG, some contributions from others. The East is weak.
But there's no way this cast and crew is the nucleus of a future championship team. All Grunfeld's done is postpone when we can start building one.

This.

Re: Where do the Wizards fit into next years playoff picture
a lot depends on what other teams do
does Rose come back - if not, CHI got beat by #8 seed
does Howard come back strong - if not ORL is not likely to be very good
What happens to the big 3 in Boston? -

We this it's most likely we don't make it. It's not like Ariza and Okafor are going to give us a big boost (they're mediocre players IMO).
