I think we should go after Scott Machado with our 2nd round pick.

If Orlando does not add another rookie PG, then he could be a nice 3rd stringer that could push the starter as a practice squad guy. He has OK height and good ball handling. One thing to look for in the late 2nd round is, "Can player X make the NBA?" Machado looks like a guy that could bounce around the D-league and stabilize into the NBA in a couple years. So, yes, he is worth a look.

Leonard looks to be a more well rounded player than melo and festus. He'd also compliment Dwight really well assuming he stays. Don't get me wrong though I'd gladly take fab or festus if Meyers is gone.

It depends, Kyle O'Quinn later first or in the second round is a great pick up. Yet at 19 he would be a huge reach, so if we could acquire the Thunders first then O'Quinn would be an awesome pick.

Oh yeah, of course. Picking him at 19 is a horrific thought. LOL.

If you look at his numbers he is very similar to Anthony Davis except he has a longer wingspan and is a little heavier. I think Kyle is the second best shot blocker and a top five rebounder in this draft and his numbers show that. He is still raw on offense but has been showing a jumper in workouts which is interesting and helping his stock.

Villanova PG Maalik Wayns is on his way to Orlando for a draft workout with The Magic.

Out of those 4, I'd be happy with TJones or MTeague. I don't think Moultrie adds anything that is significantly an upgrade to our team, especially without strong defense. Green is a JAG imo. Just Another Guy.

Fast forward to 3:40. The drill is, you get 1 minute to make 2 threes from each of the 5 spots around the arc. Ideally you get all the way around in 1 minute. Can anyone guess how Wroten did? Even a little scarier, they pulled a stat on 'shots with his feet set' in which he shot 12.5% on the year. Even a half hearted NBA scouting report will tear this kid apart. Go under every screen, if he gets to the rim just hack him because he can't shoot free throws, and he's even worse shooting off a pass so his defender will just camp in help side/double dwight with every touch.

Never been a fan of Wroten. I just think he's gonna be more trouble for a team than he's worth. I'd take him in the 2nd round and send him to the DLeague. But he's YEARS AWAY from contributing in a positive manner. He's got size and can dunk emphatically, but his head is uncontrollable. I don't see him improving his shooting for years.

Seems like all these kids have red flags. Jones horrible body language and inconsistency is very disturbing. He didn't even deny it being an issue, just said he's working on it. I like Teague's potential as a nice all around change of pace PG. Very good at the PnR, this draft seems deeper and deeper as I learn more about the draftees

I havent seen many people talk about taking Mike scott in the second round. What do you guys think about him? seems like a talented offensive player with nice range and it never hurts having another big on the roster

Anybody have a list of the players we've worked out so far?

5/31/12
The Orlando Magic worked out six draft prospects on Wednesday in Orlando, a team official said.

The prospects are: Moe Harkless from St. John’s, William Buford from Ohio State, Cameron Moore from UAB, Andrew Nicholson from St. Bonaventure, Darrion Pellum from Hampton and Jeff Taylor from Vanderbilt.

The Magic own the 19th and 49th overall picks in the draft, which will be held June 28.

Harkless is a 6-foot-8 wing who played one season for the Red Storm. He averaged 15.5 points per game on 45.2 percent shooting.
A 6-foot-5 shooting guard, Buford played four seasons for the Buckeyes. He averaged 14.5 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting.
Moore is a 6-foot-10 forward who played four seasons for the Blazers. As a senior, he averaged 16.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Nicholson played four seasons for the Bonnies. He averaged 18.5 points and 8.4 rebounds as a senior.
Pellum is a 6-foot-6 guard. He played four seasons for the Pirates, finishing his senior season averaging 18.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
A 6-foot-7 wing, Taylor averaged 16.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as a senior with the Commodores.
Both Nicholson and Pellum tweeted that they were in Orlando.

6/16/12
The Orlando Magic worked out six draft prospects and interviewed another Saturday in Orlando, a team official said.

The prospects who worked out are:

• 6-foot-5 point guard Tony Wroten from Washington,
• 6-foot-2 point guard Dee Bost from Mississippi State,
• 6-foot-4 shooting guard Charlie Westbrook from South Dakota,
• 6-foot point guard Tu Holloway from Xavier,
• 6-foot-8 forward JaMychal Green from Alabama and
• 6-foot-7 forward Jamar Samuels from Kansas State.

In addition, 6-foot-8 forward Kevin Jones from West Virginia interviewed with team officials but did not work out because of an injury, according to a team official.

I think its gonna be either Taylor or Harkless at 19 unless somebody falls to us.

Not really a fan of Taylor, but I wouldn't mind Harkless but he won't be around at 19.
