The thing is tho, we dont know about these rookies aside from Anthony Davis. Why not get the sure thing in a 20 10 guy in Jefferson that would beast in the East. Does Henson become that Marcus Camby or Brandon Wright. Im thinking he could become a Camby Light but who would you rather have a 20 10 beast or a piss poor version of Marcus Camby
Actually, the real thing is, anything "can" happen. Anthony Davis might be a bust. Henson might be the next superstar. He could be Marcus Camby defensively and develop into Tim Duncan offensively. We just don't know. Anthony Davis could be Blake Griffin mixed with Tyson Chandler, or he could be Anthony Randolph or even Brandan Wrigh! Jefferson is the sure thing at the moment, but any old injury could render him useless, or his game might just his a decline because he stops trying and then you'd be paying $28M to a guy at the end of the bench.
The entire thing is based on risk/reward and what management feels is the right course for the team to take. If they want to rebuild, Drummond or Henson are both good options. I would personally take Drummond over Henson if both were available.
My list for the draft goes:
1. Drummond 2. Lamb 3. Henson 4. Waiters 5. Ross
Any of those 5 or 2 of those 5 combined with trading Iggy and bringing in a FA from Brand's money is my preference. But if that's the case, then it's a clear rebuild. Which I would only do IF and only if the Sixers are assured that A) Deron won't sign here and B) D12 won't be traded here.
The Jefferson/Watson for Iggy deal IMO makes sense IF the Sixers know they are going to get a FA C or Deron in addition to it. Then draft BPA or trade pick and young guys to create a "big 3" featuring Jefferson.
